Returned w/o testing. This card came with a driver CD. I need a card that will run w/o drivers.
Computer is a test bench for multiple OS, Win 2k, XP, Linux etc. Use with multiple hard drives.
Can't be concerned about drivers if swapping hard drives.

I'm sure its a great card but... its got no software for anything past windows 8. windows 10 does provide drivers but RAID is out of the question.
it appears to draw directly on the motherboard's SATA lines and that is a serious issue with the TRX40 chipset. the limited number of lines means that ANY SSDs will be affected and glitch out or not be detected. especially NVMe drives as gigabyte pushed their boards so far that it disables 4 of the ten SATA lines to support it. the only place I can see this card being useful is in an older build or not in a workstation. I'm sure its great and that I'll find a use for it in another computer in the office but its useless in my workstation.

The drivers installed without trouble and without crashing the system. Instructions suggest that it supports 32 and 64 bit versions of XP/2003 and higher OS. Package contained the driver CD, one PATA and one SATA cable, installation instructions. It has been operating for 24 hours now without failure.

Got the job done but barely due to a minor design flaw

This solved my problem with my new mother board that did not come with PATA ports for my old DVD writer drives. The only problem was that designer should have reversed the direction of the port or have it pointing perpendicular to the board. The current design makes adding the cable awkward (but not impossible) and may cause clearance issues, if another card or internal connections are right below it.

It works with win 11 and drivers can be installed from the cd that comes with it.
Using this to revive an old ide cd rom drive.
If you are using this device together with Intel Optane memory, make sure you install all the necessary and correct drivers and applications.

Also, the chipset does NOT support RAID as the research before buying this device has shown.
