Features the same advanced HyperHEPA filter technologies as the HealthPro Plus, but in a smaller housing. It Does not include the V5-Cell gas and odor filter and cannot be upgraded to fit the V-5 Cell. Do not be mistaken by its smaller size, this unit has the ability to cover an area as large as 1240 sq. ft. and are built to the same standards and performance requirements as the larger models. At the heart of this revolutionary system is the exclusive IQAir HyperHEPA Filtration technology. A dense network of nano-fibers effectively traps particles of all sizes. That includes viruses, pet dander, dust mites, other allergens and even cigarette smoke. While ordinary air cleaners are only tested for the largest 10% of particles, IQAir's HyperHEPA filtration is tested and certified to filter 99.5% of all particles down to 0.003 microns. These are the smallest particles that exist.

Ionic Breeze (If you are just looking to take dust out of the air... might work for you... but it produces ozone which can aggravate asthma);
next up we bought a Blue Air 400 series air cleaner. This took ALOT of dust, etc out of the air (being a near Hepa air filter) However, this also had little effect on stopping asthmatic reactions anywhere around the pet. (it is a small bunny 2-3 lbs and we try to keep the area clean, but the dander is so small that it bypasses this filtering or it doesn't take enough out of the atmosphere in the area where we keep the bunny to have any effect)...
More recently, after much research, we tried the Austin Air HealthMate Allergy Machine, which filters 99.97% of all particles larger than 0.3 microns, for a week. This is a TRUE HEPA air filter. Kept in on high the whole time in the area we keep the bunny, no noticeable difference in asthmatic reaction (i.e. reaction was almost as bad as without it.) so we sent this back.
Finally in a last ditch effort before we contemplated giving up the pet (which the kids absolutely adore) and after much research on Pet Dander and Air Cleaners...
we splurged and purchased the IQAir New Edition HealthPRo Compact ( ≥ 99.97% for particles ≥ 0.3 microns (individually tested), ≥ 99.5% at ≥ 0.003 microns) for this area (which contains around 6000 cubic feet of air) we ran it on level 6 for an hour before entering the space and kept it on level 6 fan for the 2 hours we were down there last night... and the Asthmatic reaction was much lessened (did not need the emergency inhaler) although there was still a small reaction to the remaining dander (I do not believe it is possible to have a pet and not have dander if it is warm blooded).
So the verdict: the ONLY air filter that had a measurable impact on Asthma induced by the presence of Pet Dander in our situation was the IQAir New Edition HealthPro Compact.
The others may be as good as they claim on their sites... but were not effective in controlling this source of Asthmatic reactions.
After six months of using this unit, we are still very happy with it. We use it regularly and notice when we have not had it on in a while because the quality of air deteriorates. Good product and worth the expense in my opinion!
