I found that one container of this size is adequate for pants, one for T-shirt's, one for under bits and socks and so on.
I've had them and been using them for over a month now and twice they have kept water out from leaking ports and other leaks.
Wish I had several more of this size instead of the 62.8Qt as the 30.6 qt are more store able and functional on a 36' sailboat.
I have started keeping oats, flower, and other food items in them too. So nice to have my sugar granulated and not in a big block. Although the children loved the blocks of sugar and chocolate.
All in all the boxes are great for any light duty dry storage. I would highly recommend them for anyone, but especially for those trying to keep things dry in humid or often rained on areas (yes a few of my hatches leak).
And if a lid breaks, Iris will not sell you a replacement lid, so the box will be useless. I bought these in 2015, and moved last month. The Movers stacked them 5-6 high, and when I got to unpacking the bottom two bins, the lids were cracked. No longer weather proof, or sturdy, I emailed the company asking to buy replacement lids. I was informed they don't manufacture them separately from the boxes, which has to be utter BS. Its also bad business not to sell replacement parts.
Accordingly I have two bins that are useless. Frankly, I believe that the lids should not have cracked under the weight of only 4-5 of the same item, which contained glass Tochtchkes and other precious items, and so part of my "One Star review" is attributed to the fact that they broke at all.
