Top customer reviews
I've always had numbness and pain in my butt and/or man parts. I've gone from saddle to saddle with similar negative results.
I'm cautiously optimistic. This saddle might be the one. I followed ISM's instructions carefully. I mounted the saddle farther back and a little lower with a very slight nose down tilt. I've been trying very hard to sit in the correct (more forward) position on the saddle. So far after 200 miles I'm very optimistic. Finally on longer rides my legs hurt before my butt or my man parts.
I can't wait to keep riding to see if this is for real or just wishful thinking.
I WILL report back.
I am a super fan of these ISM saddles. I mainly ride relatively flat to mildly hilly forest trails. With some street connections. I generally ride 30-60 minutes and these ISM seats have solved all the neuropothy issues with conventional saddles.
My only admonishment is that it takes (1) a while to get used to it, and (2) a while to get it adjusted. Truly follow the instructions - as they seem wrong (drop, angle). And give it a week to get used to and also tweak the adjustments (bring your tools on your rides). It took me under but near a week to get it where it's working great for me - and to get used to it. So please do be prepared to work through this change - you won't regret it!
Had previously been riding the ISM Breakaway. With the Breakaway, I had no numbness and could ride for longer stints 20-30 miles, but would occasionally experience some focused irritation while eliminating waste in the bathroom.
Upon racking this model up and heading out for a quick 10 I found it more comfortable and better suited to the width of my posterior. I felt more supported, while still feeling agile and connected to the bike, with no pressure points that lead to numbness. This model is shorter, and wider, than the breakaway, and it seeme to fit my physiology better. Additionally, I feel that my previous delicate spot is less exposed to potential irritation while riding,
The Breakaway is still a great seat, and it's being moved over to my grocery-getter for trips of 10 or less.
Time will tell on this one, but right off the bat it's been a bigger improvement than I thought was possible.
