What is there to say about a battery? It takes a charge and it delivers power. This particular model lasts a very long time. The impulse guns must not require much power to operate because these will drive several thousand nails before dying. My only complaint is that they are expensive compared to other batteries . At the same rate a 12v would be a hundred bucks.

Professionals have no problem discharging or discharging these batteries to keep them in good condition.

Things are different for the DIY'er like myself who has 2 Paslode projects a year.

I bought my last Paslode cordless battery in 2006 and it is still good. The secret to NiCad batteries is to exercise them. If not used, most of these batteries will run down in about 75 days. Therefore, I keep a calendar to remind me when to recharge them. If there is any voltage left, I drain and then fully recharge.

Building your own inexpensive discharge device is simple.

I soldered a small copper rod, 12-gauge, 3-inches long to the sides of three 12-volt auto tail light bulbs. I soldered another rod to the ends of the bulbs and attached + and - (black & white) wires to the ends of the rods. I flattened the bare ends of the wires with solder. A rubber band or a bit of electrical tape will hold the wire ends onto the battery terminals for discharging.

Don't leave the battery unattended. A fully charged Paslode battery will take about 20 minutes to discharge. When the bulbs become almost too dim to see, I remove them.

I cut a template or jig out of 1/2-inch cabinet plywood to fit around the end of the Paslode battery allowing a small notch at each terminal just large enough to slip the wires into and stay tight against the terminals. This works great.

Take care of these batteries and they will last for years.

Hobby Shops sell computer operated chargers and dischargers for a wide range of battery types but most cost over $100.00.

A 2-pack of 12-volt tail light bulbs is less than $5.00.

Don't pay cash. Just charge it.

Loyal paslode customer own approx. 10 cordless guns, approx 12 oval batteries, 8 of the batteries have came apart at the clip. The top of the battery comes completly off when you put it in the gun. Have to use black tape to hold the batteries together. Don't have much choice I need a battery to fire the guns trying to find other options. Any sugestions?

Not a lot to say: This is a genuine Paslode brand battery. Worked perfect; I will say an identical battery like this was currently over $70+ dollars at Lowes, so this is a quite a lot less expensive compared to the box store.

Very good life & reasonable charge time. There are some issues with the design of the nailer (battery will discharge if plugged into tool, even without use). The Amazon price was MUCH BETTER than the Lowes or Home Depot price.

The battery works great and holds a charge for a good amount of time but... it doesn't fit snuglyl in the charger which I find irritating. It wobbles a bit and you have to be sure the contacts are touching then make sure it's somewhere where it won't get bumped. Other than that, it's fine. You should know that the Paslode Framing nail gun I am using is an older model purchased around 2005. My guess is that it will fit fine in the newer chargers, but I haven't checked that out.

I opted to buy the Paslode brand instead of a generic brand battery - note the amperage differences when you are comparing. The Paslode battery matches the original battery - which lasted 5 years so I hope this will too. I am a DIY so this tool is not used daily. I charged the battery for 24 hours upon receipt and it works fine. I'd buy this again from this seller.

paslode battery works just like it is suppose to what more can you say. the local box stores are not carrying this product anymore. The TX heat of our trucks is rough on batteries stored in our boxes.
