Aftershokz are much more expensive so I hadn’t bought until now. These ones are basically half the price!!! I also like the low-key semi-army green color of these better too (I like to blend in with nature so the fluorescent colors everything comes with are annoying!) In addition to the muted color, the LED is very low-key and isn’t on while in use.
I was pleasantly shocked at the sound quality! If you’re like me, you’re probably dubious about the sound quality. Well – it might not be audiophile quality but it sounds similar to other headphones to me. But of course the most important thing is that you can hear everything around you. I like music while riding a bike – but with regular headphones you can’t hear the traffic on the road, and you can’t hear the crunch of gravel, etc. off-road. That really bothers me – but with these, problem solved!!! You can hear everything just fine! I actually forgot I had them on at one point, they are very comfortable. I find most headphones bother my ears after a while but with these that’s never going to happen!
I also wear sunglasses and was worried that might interfere with wearing these – but it seems fine.
The one thing I can't get past, and this is not fixed on the more expensive "name brand" models, is the wire connecting the two ear loops. It wraps around the back of your head but it can't be adjusted in any way. This makes them move more than I want and also makes it difficult to sit in chairs with head rests as it pushed them off your cheek bones. I wish they could be adjusted to fit the neck line.
Overall I do really like them for what they are. I don't feel like they are lacking anything that isn't due to the technology they use.
Right out of the box, the headphones paired effortlessly with my iPhone Xs Max. My husband's Samsung phone also paired with the headphones easily.
The sound quality is surprisingly good for the price and style. Works well with Spotify, Audiobooks, and Podcasts alike.
I really like being able to hear what's going on around me while walking the dog, running, doing chores, or just relaxing outside with an audiobook.
And the best part, my ear holes are getting a break from constant earpod wear.
So if you're contemplating trying out this style of headphone, give this pair a chance!
Truthfully at first I didn't think they were working, until I put the earplugs in and was surprised at what I was actually hearing. Again, it wasn't amazing quality for music, but the fact that my ears were plugged was cool.
I'm using them for walks at night, and when I'm in charge of the baby. My regular headphones block too much sound and I won't hear the baby or oncoming traffic.

However... They're a bit small on me (I wear a 7.5 size hat) so they "pinch" at the back of my head. This causes the "speaker" part to pull away from my head a bit, so the sound is tinnier than if I press the "speaker" in with my hands. This poor fit also causes the back part of the headset to pull when I turn my head, so I have to reseat the headphones. This isn't a big problem if I'm sitting at my computer and making minimal head movements, but would be a nuisance while driving or running where you are more frequently looking around.
Button control isn't the most intuitive. These headphones have a lot of real estate, so there's plenty of room for separate volume buttons, etc. , which would save a lot of fumbling. Especially if you own more than one set of Bluetooth headphones and you're trying to remember how many clicks of which side you need for different functions.
But these are minor quibbles. Minor enough that I plan to keep using these, rather than send them back and starting over with another make/model.
