The Ember War Saga (9 Book Series)
I am an addicted reader in a candy shop.
I gladly gave many dollars so Mr. Fox could keep entertaining me.
If you love any kind of space opera or military sci fi from the golden years or even classics like Babylon 5, this whole thing is like coming back home, finding a beloved easy chair and just letting the story carry you away. Quality.
So I was happily surprised when this came up in my email notifications.
We're back in the ember war universe with the characters we established in Iron Dragoons, except the scale is back to the galactic level. We meet some old friends and enemies as humanities next threat is relieved. Like all of Richard's books this one is short, but it's low price and he punches out books so quickly I'm not sure he has time for anything else.
If your new to Richard Fox start with Ember War, it establishes the universe and characters, if you've already read that then why are you even reading this, you know the deal, if you liked that you'll love this.
If you enjoyed the Ember Wars series, I think that you will enjoy this series just as much. I hope you will give it a try.
FYI -- If it seems odd that I would praise a book so much, but only give it 4 stars, allow me to explain. As I have gained experience as a reviewer, I've become stingy with handing out 5 stars. 4 stars is a good rating from me (as is 3 stars, for that matter). Like most books, this one has some issues. While I think they are minor, I have deducted a point. If Amazon allowed half-stars, I would probably have have rated it as 4-1/2 stars. I have enjoyed this series, and highly recommend it.
I found the characters entertaining and the story is paced in such a way that it keeps you wanting more, and more and more... I'll say this, I am a little sad with some of the events in the book and this in turns tells you how much engaged I am in the series! Damnation, Richard fox has done it again, I am now hooked to the series!
