See back panel for nutritional information. To retain vitamins, do not rinse before or drain after cooking.*Cooking measurement chart.For drier rice, use 1/4 cup less water. For moister rice, use 1/4 cup more water.Servings (3/4 cup cooked) - 4 - 8 - 12:Rice - 1 cup - 2 cups - 3 cups.Water - 1 1/2 cups - 3 cups - 4 1/2 cups.Yield - 3 cups - 6 cups - 9 cups.Cooking directions on the stove.1. In a saucepan, bring water to a boil.*2. Stir in rice.**3. Cover reduce heart and simmer for 15 minutes or until all water is absorbed.**Add 1 tbsp tub margarine and 1 tsp salt per cup of uncooked rice, if desired.Cooking directions in the microwave***.1. In a 2 quart microwave-safe dish combine 1-3/4 cups water and 1 cup rice.**2. Cover and microwave on high for 5 minutes. Reduce setting to 50% power, microwave for 10 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes.**It is recommended that only 1 cup rice be prepared in the microwave at a time. Microwave ovens vary. Cooking times as approximate. I liked the low price per lb for the 18lb bag. It was flavorful, though not a strong jasmine rice. It is the right balance of enough flavor & a lower price.
No issue with bugs & we waited a week to try it.
Still experimenting with correct water to rice ratio for my rice cooker and ambient humidity. For the pic I used 3/4 c rice, and the "1" mark inside the stainless cook pot. I'll try just a bit less water next time. Like another review stated, it is more hardened the next day than other brands we use. (We eat about 15-20 lbs/month). But used it for chicken & rice soup,, so it was fine.
