Ice Harbor Mittens .This is truly a magical book with text that would challenge a third grader but should be comfortable for the fifth grade child. The story would be lovely for a knitter to read to their child or grandchild. The illustrations are a wonderful wash of color as the characters play across the pages with whimsical reality. Another wonderful offering that gives folks a little glimpse of the working families that populate the coast of Maine. -Kate Quinn, The Working Waterfront, 12/14/2010

Robin's authentic voice conjures up strong imagery of the cold Atlantic and rocky coastal Maine, while illustrator Jamie Hogan's fresh pastel drawings pop with its subtle colors—which brighten the spirit even on the grayest of days. It is a picture book worthy of revisiting time and again. I know I will.
Also, there is a powerful lesson I know I had to learn, to give older people the benefit of the doubt - maybe they know more than you think they do.
