Unfortunately, in my usual Icebreaker size, size small, the chest area of the new Oasis shirt was too tight, which I've not experienced in my other Icebreaker tops.
Also, the sleeves of this new shirt were FOUR INCHES too long, 4 inches past my wrist. Now, most of my Icebreaker shirts have sleeves that are a bit too long for me, often up to 2 inches too long, but 4 inches is something else entirely. Some Icebreaker tops have thumb loops and are supposed to be 2 inches past the wrist so the thumbs can fit into them, but this top didn't even have thumb loops and is meant to finish at the wrist.
I had to return this top. The medium might fit me better in the chest area, but would be even longer in the arms and too big in shoulders/tummy area, so I didn't go up a size.
I would give the specific top I returned 2 stars, but I went up to 3 for this review because maybe that top was a one-off factory mistake or something.
Some general info on Icebreaker:
Because some of Amazon's listing descriptions for Icebreaker items have very few details about the products, making it difficult for the customer to make an informed purchasing decision if he/she is unfamiliar with this brand of clothing, below I'll type some information and personal impressions about Icebreaker clothing.
Note that my review is quite long and usually only the first half of it is shown on this page. If this happens on your screen and you wish to read the second half, all you have to do is press the "read more" button at the bottom of the review and Amazon will show you the rest of it.Read more ›
I like this shirt because it's pretty soft (slightly rough at first touch, but you forget about that quickly), sleeves are long enough to go over my wrists even with arms extended, body is long, fit is trim, not baggy, and this stuff never stinks. I've tested this with a 5 day stretch of wearing without washing, including enough sweating that I had to finally wash the shirt just to get rid of the sweat rings and the spaghetti sauce I dripped on the front, but no stink.
The one thing I wish were a little different is the neckline. It goes right up to my neck, and I get that strangulation feeling every so often, but I think that's just me. And I know they make shirts like this with different necklines, but I got this one on sale, so I can hardly complain. I like this enough that I'll just fix it myself, if it ends up bothering me that much.
This is not a cute "wear to work" type of shirt, it really is like long underwear, so the appearance really doesn't matter, unless you want to hike in it, or whatever, then it would be normal enough. But I'm a wool convert, so this is all I need in the winter, under a sweater. I purchased the shirt in Large, and it fits like standard sizes. I'm an average, slightly overweight female, and it fits me well. I'm sure the other sizes are standard, as well.
I definitely recommend this shirt to anyone looking for a good base layer for sporty stuff, or just for keeping warm in the winter.
In addition, the 200 (for me) was the perfect weight - I wore it while hiking up a 13,800ft mountain, and was completely comfortable, climbed across a lava flow (and didnt sweat too much), donned it between scuba dives etc. Also, it protected my very fair skin from the sun without me overheating too much. I will definitely order more of these shirts.
Here are the caveats: I bought size large because I'm a little busty and mediums sometimes bind. 5'3", 135 lbs. The large fits perfectly around, but is very long and the sleeves are even longer. I rather like the long top but the sleeves need to be rolled up about 2 inches. Even with those too-long sleeves, I know it will get a lot of wear, on and off the slopes. A skier friend dropped in just as I unwrapped this shipment from Amazon and she was extremely impressed with the color, quality, and price. No, I'm not giving it to her, though she's 5'8 and it would fit her perfectly.
I will not hesitate to buy this brand again, perhaps in the medium size.

Love the warmth and comfort this top brought. Although it can get a little warm when you start doing sports in this top. Used it from -7 to 13 Degs. Read morePublished on December 11, 2013 by SN0W
This might work for someone who wants a very tight-fitting base layer to keep warm in very cold weather. I like something a little looser.Published on October 24, 2013 by Jennifer Buchanan
great color. good weight for camp site wear, cool hikes.
Crew neck is not too constrictive. Nice long sleeves and bodice for my 5'10" frame, I bought a small even!
Bought this too wear under sweater but too uncomfortable. I usually wear a size 4 so bought a small but found it tight, short and very scratchy.Published on August 8, 2013 by donnaloveshopping
