This sensor module is equipped with IR emitter and receiver. The IR emitter will lanuch the certain frequency infrared, when there is the obstacle in the front, the infrared will be reflected and received by the IR receiver module. then the LM393 comparator will process this signal, the green indicator will light up and the module will output a digital signal(low level).
Working Voltage: DC3.3-5V
Signal Output: 0(detect objects), 1(no objects detected)
Detecting Distance: 2-30cm(adjustable)

1. The detected object's color and area will affect the detecting distance, darker and smaller area the object is, the shorter the detecting distance will be.
2. Clockwise rotate the potentiometer, the detecting distance will increase, otherwise it will decrease.

Title states that they are able to detect objects 2-30 cms and that you can change that with a trimpot in the chassis.
Well... I was not able to make them detect anything above 10cm. I dont care because I'm using them on a H0 model train track and they are going to be 5cms away of what I want to detect so not big deal, but if anyone wants to handle bigger distances, they might be a problem.
