my kids 11 and 13 love the game, not too hard to adjust as long as you understand that it will need to be adjusted. We happen to have a drawer full of rubber bands, so easy to find one that worked well for us. People today just love to complain. Of course it's cheaply made; it's not MEANT to withstand rough children, but I guess people today just expect not to teach their kids to play reasonably, but expect companies to construct their toys of steel and concrete and still sell them for the cheap prices?! Bottom line, if your kids have the dexterity to color with markers inside the lines of a medium-level coloring book, they'll probably be okay with this as long as you play with them the first few times. I loved it as a kid because we could ALL play, even those who didn't read or add well, it was a relatively short game for short attention spans, simple rules, easy (for us) set up, and it didn't fit back in the box assembled, so I used to display it on my toy shelves. Pieces do/will get lost if attention isn't paid during clean up. HIGHLY recommend it but not for under 5 years old, or for anyone with "snobby" expectations. (PLEASE, it's plastic!)

I had one of these growing up. I could not believe that they remade it. My kids love playing with it and I like playing along with them.

My son loves sharks so I thought we should give this game a try. The shark is really cute and looks great on the. That's really the best feature of the game though. It takes some fiddling and an extra rubber band to get the mouth to work properly. At first the mouth wouldn't close no matter how many pieces we removed. Then with an extra rubber band as suggested by others, it closed too soon or starting lifting so early that the pieces started to slide down inside. With some trial and error, I found a rubber band that worked the way the game suggested it should work. I can't say that the kids use the game as the instructions show. They found that quite boring. The end of one of the hooks broke off, so we are down to one now. That one seems to be holding up well. The child who is interested in sharks doesn't really pay any attention to this game. His little sister likes to pull out all of the pieces and play with them separately. With smaller kids like her, the pieces just end up scattered all over the floor. At this point, we are using more as a shark decoration than as a game. There are much better and more entertaining games out there. If you want a game that tests your sure-handedness, get operation instead.

Pros: Cute shark - looks great on the shelf

Cons: Hard to find the right rubber bands to make the mouth work right
Game play was not fun for my kids

Sharks bottom jaw and teeth are too small for the size of the load of junk. The junk items constantly fall out and when selecting a piece to remove. Definitely not as good as the original Jaws game I played as a child. I would not recommend this toy. Manufacturer should have put more thought into the product.

it is a little tough to get all of the things to stay in sharky's mouth.. But it has been a hit in my house.. it is even great for other role playing games... Sharky has eaten many transformers and lego men along his journey in our house... If you have a young shark lover grab this game.. even if you don't play the game. Do it for the giant shark that will eat anything you throw in his mouth....

My 7 year old was a bit frustrated and disappointed by this toy. The primary frustration was that it was challenging to get all the pieces to balance in the shark's mouth in order to start off play. The photo is of my efforts to fill the jaw and the pieces that kept tumbling out.

After you put the shark together, the items are supposed to weigh his mouth down, but his mouth doesn't hold all the items so it constantly snaps shut. I think it could have been designed differently to have worked better, the main idea of the game is cute, but it just doesn't work.
