[SIC] – Six kids from “the wrong side of the tracks” create a game to attempt to make changes to the lives they currently live. “Eureka”, a twisted version of the kid’s game, Tag, combined with Truth or Dare, requires the one who is “it” to do something…anything…to change their life. The biggest catch…they only have 15 minutes to decide, and make happen, this change that they would never have thought of in the normal course of their day. The game starts out with small things, but as time goes on, the changes become more drastic, and life altering, for each of “The Six” …as well as the people involved in their lives. How far would one go to change the course of their life? Would the lives of their family and friends be exempt from the game they play? What happens when one of “The Six” tries to change the game? [SIC] is difficult to stop reading. There is no good place to just put the book down without wanting to know what comes next. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.
THE BLUE – Derek Weaver, part-time artist, and full-time bartender, is involved in a traffic accident that forever changes his life. Imagine coming out of a coma to discover that you may be responsible for the deaths of three innocent people, AND not being able to recognize anyone’s face. Imagine not knowing who is friend and who is foe. This is what Derek Weaver awakens to. After his release from the hospital, Derek must deal with the family of the people killed in the accident, a trial for vehicular manslaughter, and his own demons…all without knowing whether he is looking at someone who wants to help him or hurt him. THE BLUE is a fast paced, in your face, look at how some people might deal with grief. Good luck trying to put this one down before the end of the story. I could not do it.
KEEP THE GHOST – Sean, Kayla, Morgan, and Jack. Lives entwined…lives lost. KEEP THE GHOST takes us into the world of ever changing identities and letting go of the “real you”. How does one go about surviving after “dying”? Can it be done without harming those you become closest to? How many times must one die to truly live? We learn that it is not as easy as it seems, especially when murder and mayhem are involved. Come along with these folks as they attempt to do what many of us would sometimes love to do…become someone other than who we were born as. Would you take the chances that this crew did? Would you be willing to kill to survive? Would you be willing to die to live? Scott Kelly has done fantastic work once again. KEEP THE GHOST, book one of a trilogy, is another page turner in this set of books.
SHADOW BOX: Book two in the KEEP THE GHOST trilogy – Sean, Morgan, and Jack return, still trying to find the perfect identity, still trying to make sense of murders that didn't need to happen. This time, the scene is set in sunny Mexico, with Sean and Morgan trying to find a way out of the country before they are found. Jack, being Jack, tries to throw the proverbial monkey wrench into the works. Take another trip with this trio as they each continue working on finding the perfect identity, as well as trying to out-maneuver each other. Twists and turn abound in this sequel!!
Scott Kelly is masterful at telling a story and keeping you entertained and engrossed. You will be holding your breath till the end. I love this author!
