Absolutely fantastic game. It is very similar to the PSP games and menus are in English so it was very easy to play this game for the non-native Japanese. Minigames for training are a blast, and the songs are great. Being able to put 5 Idols in one song was amazing, and being able to produce 3 idols for your idol group was so cool. I was sad that you have to unlock Ritsuko and Mami and others. DLC would be cool if they accepted an american credit card, though i suppose i could just buy a Yen PSN card. But all in all great music, good fun, easy to play, and it has far better graphics than the PSP versions.

Why I Bought a PS3.

This game is like crack, especially if you are even a mild fan of the Idolm@ster series. I bought this item about 2 weeks ago from a local import store, and I have already spent more time on this game than I have on the rest of my PS3 library combined.

This game is a lot less linear than the previous installments of the Idolm@ster series in that the main focus is to gain fans in geographic areas and to achieve high CD sales(which are calculated using some complex formula involving fans, high score, and other things). For me, this game feels much more strategic than previous entries, as several stats have to be taken into account, and the producer(player) must plan ahead to make sure fan growth and sales are also maintained. Fortunately, however, there is no stat decay or inflation-- reporters provide bonuses for auditions or lessons instead of stats, and the idol(or group) level is based on base stats alone(unlike in SP, where idol level can be influenced by costume, song, reporters, and lessons). Produce mode also gives the player the opportunity to unlock new costumes and accessories that can be used in subsequent playthroughs(the better accessories are extremely helpful for the PS3-exclusive "Hyper Produce" mode). Note that four of the idols(Asuza, Ami, Iori, Ritsuko) cannot be produced in standard mode, since they are rival idols. The PS3 version does contain a separate "extra episode" for each of them.

Stage For You(or S4U!) mode also includes the in-game idol group "Jupiter" in addition to the awesome 765PRO cast. The missing idols from before can be used in this mode, along with a few extra songs that come from the first DLC catalogs for the 360. Once I managed to unlock more costumes and accessories, S4U! was strangely addicting and stress-free(as opposed to the deadline-filled, RPG-like produce mode). It was fun to be able to try out new combinations of dresses and singers for songs.

Overall, Idolm@ster 2 is my favorite entry in the series by far(still haven't played OFA). It does not feel nearly as random as im@sSP, the stage performance graphics are great, and there is replay value for unlocking costumes, getting high scores, clearing Hyper Produce mode, or learning about the rest of the idols. Would recommend.

NOTE: For those who don't know Japanese, there are several translations and guides available online. Being familiar with Idolm@ster is probably necessary to enjoy the game to the fullest extent.

このような育成型のゲームというのは
いちどクリアしたら殆んど手付かずになる事も多いのですが
アイドルマスター２は長い期間遊べます。
登場するキャラクター達も個性に溢れ飽きません。
ステージフォーユーという機能が入ってますが
アイドル達のステージを気軽に見る事が出来るのは良かったです。
ｐｓ３のベスト版も安く出ているのでアイマス入門編としては十分に購入価値があります。
