This is a sweet sweet clean romance. Melody is lonely, scared and missing her husband. He was taken to soon and from what is told about him and the actions he takes to try to help her move on and find love again he was a nice kind man who loved her with everything he was. Melody though is resistant. She fears that by moving on she will forget Jack but that simply isn’t true and Jack helps her see that in this fun sweet tale of Melody finding room in her heart for Adrian. Adrian is a really adorable and kind guy. He comes to the bookstore to get a book his students are all reading and falls for Melody. Melody feels something to but won’t admit it. At the same time Oliver/Jack comes into town with a deadline that he has until Xmas eve to help Melody but than he must return. He goes to some hysterical levels to do this. My favorite is the online dating service. Him meeting the guys was too much. Through that though he meets Adrian who he feels is perfect for her unbeknowngst to him they have already met and like each other. That becomes a mess because Jack misunderstands and he goes about to set it right. What is wonderful to see is that Jack although he wants Melody to be happy and move on once that is a possibility has a hard time letting go. HIs love for her is so deep that he feels sad when he does walk away. Sad but happy because he made Melody realize that she has room in her heart for others. This is the wonderfully written tale of Melody and how she finds someone to love and with the help of her deceased husband she sees that the heart can hold and will receive and give love to more than one person. She realizes that she wants happiness and love again. With each character adding lightness and love to the story we see a woman heal and become what she once was. Whole and vibrant.Read more ›

I'm not a big fan of angel books, but this one was fantastic! There is so much emotion involved in this story--heartbreak, loss, love, humor, and hope. I'm still reeling!

Melody and Jack had a wonderfully romantic marriage and relationship, but when Jack dies suddenly, Melody finds herself lost--she just can't let go. Jack just wants Melody to be happy and to find love again. He takes it upon himself to help her along and to find someone for her to love by midnight on Christmas Eve. Of course, Melody has no idea that Jack is there helping her. She only thinks she has a new friend, but there are so many strange things surround this friend, Oliver.

I adore the way Melody grew throughout the story. Her feelings are tangible. It would be really hard to move on and feel like you're not forgetting your true love and she really had to work hard to get to the point where she could even consider doing so. I love that, even though she was completely heartbroken, she was able to follow her dream and open a book store. That is what led to her finding some measure of happiness and a new road to love.

I don't want to give things away too much, but I really love her possible love interest. It seems like fate, the ways that these two meet and continued to run into each other. He is such a determined and amazing man, yet he doesn't want to force his attentions on someone who isn't ready to have them. If she doesn't want him, I'm sure I know someone that I could set him up with. :)

Jack is the one who stole the show in this one. What an incredible man! No wonder Melody loves him so much. I really enjoyed the way things ended--not perfect, but just right for the story.

I read this and was expecting a light, easy read due to multiple reviews stating it as so. The majority of the book was. I laughed and rolled my eyes at the characters antics and bad choices. The last quarter of the book was not a light read for me. I bawled hysterically for almost the entire last quarter. The author's writing and portrayal of the characters love for one another repeatedly throughout the book hit me really hard at the end. The emotions invoked were strongly felt bleeding through those pages. I can't even describe the impact they had on the feel of the entire book at the end. It isn't a miserable ending though at all. You are left with a smile, tears in your eyes, and bursting with hope. It has been a while since I felt such intense emotions from a book. I highly recommend this emotional and beautiful book!

This is a delightful story and a light, easy read. When you truly love someone, you want them to be happy. This story is a beautiful example of this.
I have to say that Jack’s first attempts seemed pretty pathetic. He thinks he can just ‘go to the mall’ and pick someone out? Matchmaking is a true skill. There’s a little reality here of the pitfalls and obstacles of dating. He has a time constraint also.
This was a clean story. Some might get a tear in their eyes at places, but you don’t necessarily need a whole box of tissues. I was concerned with the page length, that this might be one of the new books that leaves you with a big cliff hanger. This was not the case, which I was happy about. There is a sense of resolution and closure.
Certainly there might be another story down the road about some of the characters, Trent and Cassie maybe? A different holiday for Melody and ______________? I don’t want to give anything away.
This book was provided free for me to read and write an honest review.
