5.0 out of 5 stars What Cracks?
By Rick on April 26, 2017
I am happy with this cooler so far. I had a 40 Qt. Coleman thermoelectric cooler and I like the size of this one better because I can put it on the floor board passenger side or the back seat. The other one was too big. I am going to debunk a few reviews I read. The thermoelectric coolers are not designed to keep your food and drinks ice cold like a refrigerator. So for those of you who are disappointed, do like I do and use frozen ice packs. They do not melt as fast as in the thermoelectric cooler and keep things colder. The cracks that one review mentioned in the lid are natural seams in the plastic. The seams open slightly when the lid is open and close when the lid is closed. That is normal. It's not a design flaw! I also read one review that mentioned the plug was getting too hot and melting. I am sure that was a defective plug. I checked mine after running for 8 hours and it is just warm to the touch. I will keep monitoring it to see if that changes or if any "cracks" start to form.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ao far so good. No problems
By Khalid Warsame on March 28, 2016
I'm a truck driver who lives in his truck all the time and since summer is coming in I had to buy a cooler and I chose this one over many others.
It's rigid, solid and operates quietly. It does what it's suppose to do, cooling down. I usually unplug it before going to bed and start ut again in the morning. I have had it for over a week now with no problems.
Somehow I feel it's a bit small for me. So, I'm giving it to a brother and I'm buying the big 40 quart one.
Ao far so good. No problems.
I have read several reviews complaining about the socket/cord melting down and not being able to handle the power, for me though I haven't had that issue. The cord is thick and tough.
Few things i have noticed is that if you just drop the lid so it shuts, it won't shut. You have to push on it for it to close properly. Check out the pics.

5.0 out of 5 stars The ultimate travel buddy
By HandsON on December 12, 2017
I don’t really understand how it works exactly (I’ll leave that to the product description) but it does! Do know that this won’t be the same as an actual refrigerator. It’s highly recommended that you put in food that’s already cold or throw in an ice pack or two because the temperature is dependent on the temperature of the items that you put in. You can plug it in when it’s empty and it’ll cool down the inside a good amount, but the colder the items the colder the cooler can get. Priming the cooler beforehand is something I do often. Before heading out on my road trip, I plug it into a wall (wall adapters are separate), throw in an ice pack or two and leave it for like 30 minutes to an hour. After that, the cooler would be around 40 degrees Fahrenheit or colder. The longest trip I’ve been on was around 8 hours and the cooler kept up. Unplugged, the cooler can’t really keep cold for as long as a regular cooler. I’d say around a few hours give or take depending on the outside temperature. My guess is that the fan component on the lid is essentially an open hole for cold air to leak out. Not Igloo’s fault since it’s part of the design, so make sure to keep that in mind.

I’ve tried leaving it overnight at my hotel, but the temperature increased around 10 degrees the morning of so I wouldn’t recommend it for long-term use unless the items you're trying to cool aren’t very perishable. That or if you put in more ice/ice packs every several hours or so. I also suggest getting a small thermometer to track the temperature of your items.

It’s pretty big so don’t try to squeeze a full car of people on a road trip, but the large size makes it great for carrying a bunch of stuff. I’ve had mine for a few months and I’ve never had any problems with it. There’s definitely a lot of factors to keep in mind, but overall, this product has worked as advertised and I haven’t had any problems with it. For the price, you won’t find a better thermoelectric cooler.

1.0 out of 5 stars DANGER-PLUG MELTS!
Reviewed in Canada on June 5, 2021
I bought this cooler four months ago and the original plug melted. I’ve since purchased two more plugs; both have melted! I’ve stopped using it as I’m afraid it may end up burning down my truck. How the hell did this thing get CSA approval?! Don’t believe me? Google “Igloo cooler melted plug.” I’ve contacted Igloo and have yet to receive a response. Needless to say, I’ll never buy another Igloo product again.

I bought this cooler based on the pictures provided in the description, however I received a significantly smaller cooler than what was pictured. I haven't tried the cooler yet, but im not very impressed with the misleading pictures.
