Back to the bigger cooler. It's great. It has wheels and a handle and that's very convenient, because sometimes it's easier to roll it then to carry it. I've used it to go camping many times now and it is still going good.
The big cooler feels flimsy. It's very lightweight, which is a plus, but I'm honestly a little worried about damaging it. The wheels and handle don't seem very sturdy either. I don't feel like they could hold up under very much strain.
The personal cooler is practically useless. It's a bit smaller than other personal coolers I've used in the past, and the double-wall insulation means that the inside compartment is even smaller. All in all, I can't fit enough in here to match the size of the lunches I typically eat, so it sits home unused most of the time.
I haven't used the thermos yet, but I've owned one in the past and they're decent.
All in all, it was a good catch for the sale price; but the full retail tag on this could buy you a much better product.
UPDATE: Living in South Florida it tends to be pretty hot and sunny. I take the small cooler fishing with me all the time and the water jug whenever I'm outside for awhile. These things are insulated great! The ice stays and keeps everything cold all day! Why spend $600 on a Yeti use just a little bit more ice and spend $20 or whatever this costs now. Trust me it works great!
The lunchbox type cooler does not fit a six pack of cans upright, it can fit four with some room on the side to spare. If you stack more on top sideways it will work just fine. It will also work for bottles but you have to angle them under the lid to fit them in correctly. It keeps everything quite cool though, I used this at the same NASCAR event and after pulling beer out of the large cooler they were still cold three hours later in the smaller one with no extra ice included.
