This story was a lot deeper than I thought it would be and was told in multiple point of views which got a bit confusing at times. There was lots of twists that keep you guessing and keep you intrigued throughout the book.
I look forward to reading more from this author in the future
This story has a great plot and cast of characters but it feels as if it's missing something. There's so much more that could have been done and I think we could have cared more about the characters but I just didn't. I liked Jacks and Jeremy the best. Zira and Corry irritated me at best and I guess I could get their story once I knew it but it did not really connect with me. And I didn't know Finn and Addy that well. I was left wondering what'd happened to these characters to get to the point they were at but I didn't care for them enough to really relate to them and understand their plight or care.
The plot line was interesting but we've seen it before. I knew that Zira would get caught at some point and they'd end up in the dungeons. You could see that the plot to save them was going to work because it has to for the book to continue. I don't mean to be harsh about the book but it left me wanting more. I just feel like there was so much more that could have been explored and done with this book. With that being said, I'd still read other books, like possibly the sequel, by this author. I'd give her another chance.
It's a great plot and I do hope a sequel comes soon as the fire started can either be kept burning or be let to go out. I started this book last night and would have finished it then too but had to sleep so this morning I finished what was a great book so hard to put down. I think the main plot for Zira is can you be forgiven for your past as you fight for a different future. Jacks on the hand has to learn if life is lived by running away or if there's something worth fighting for. I love both Zira and Jacks are so tied into each other as well through the same event and in the end that event is what truly brings together the final plot and the final act leading to 1 very interesting fight that could start the Flames burning for true freedom.
