I've been a fan of Mitch Matthew's work for several years, and firmly believe he is one of the up and comers in the field of "Self Motivation". I believe our personal motivation is our own responsibility, and content in this category needs to serve the purpose of nudging rather than "be all, end all's". "IGNITE" did that for me.
I'd recommend this book to anyone who needs help "IGNITING" their dreams, whether close to the surface or buried.
Because of Mitch Matthews, I am now more actively moving towards a plethora of different goals in my personal life and professional life and I wish Ignite had been here sooner so that I could have started even sooner. Nothing compares to the satisfaction of achieving goals which is why you HAVE to pick up this book!! My highest recommendation!
It's actually a wake up call for the OTHER part of the brain that thinks in images, color, visions, and dreams.
There are micro-stories, full color photos, and invitation on every single page to identify and connect with your biggest life. Mitch is giving you three steps that you fill in, in your way, where you are to move toward the life you were made for.
That sounds hokey, but it's totally true.
I had the first edition on my bedside table for 6 months because every night it made everything I most wanted seem like it was totally possible - and quite honestly, like I was the only person who could make that specific dream happen in the way I "saw" it. It was my visual reading that worked on my heart and soul, which helped give answers to my mind.
I have to recommend the actual book over the ebook if you can wait for shipping, because having it in hand brings everything to life.
For You If: you need a rest from your logical, this-is-why-everything-won't-work side, and need a spark, a thought, a way to uncover the next step, and the courage to move through doubts and fears without force, shame or pushing, this is your stepping stone.
Ignite takes you through a process that allows you to unbury those dreams and see if they might be worth chasing again. Some of your dreams probably need to stay in the dream bucket (at 51 I'll probably never pitch in the World Series) but some of those dreams can and should come true. (Happy to say I am about to publish my next book). The author has created a step by step guide that will help you explore different way to bring your dream to life and let it be part of your life in ways you can't imagine right now.
It's not just about the dream but really, it's about the plan. How can you actually make it happen? This book will show you how.
You won't find a lot of hype, fluff or tired cliches in this book. But you will find pragmatic insights, encouragement and possibilities. After that -- it's just about walking out the plan.
Ignite is not one of those books filled with the same stuff we've all heard/read before. You'll be taken on a journey of rediscovering what you are passionate about; what your goals are and then how to make a plan to achieve those.
This book took me on that journey. I discovered that I'm really passionate about serving others and helped me to clarify a plan of action that resulted in a day of compassionate acts throughout my community that involved 167 people representing 17 churches that formed 14 project teams. In turn this rally day has IGNITED a movement that will sweep across the state within our denomination as churches find a way to serve with compassion.
And now I'm using this brand new addition to get clarity on a new dream. Mitch's book will IGNITE you into action as well. Go ahead and take that first step; you won't be sorry you did!
