Editorial Reviews

Review

Ignited delivers both scorching hot scenes along with the evolution and unpeeling of emotional barriers built by past dark secrets. Moreover, the characters are complex, the passion is intense and the ultimate message that love can heal all is inspiring.”The Romance Reviews (five stars)

“[J.] Kenner’s Most Wanted series is about people who walk a thin line between criminal activity and superstar success, between passionate connections and dangerous desires, between darkness and light. These books succeed because Kenner is willing to walk that line right along with her characters—to probe the darkness that frightens them, to explore the passion that ignites them and to bring readers inside the relationships that set them free. This book is no different. Brutally honest, searing, kinky and seductive, Ignited is a book fans will adore and new readers will find enjoyable as well.”RT Book Reviews

“Thought-provoking and dramatic . . . Kenner writes with passion, beauty and a traumatic take on romance and love.”—The Reading Cafe

Ignited is every bit as hot and combustible as it sounds. . . . Kenner definitely knows how to write steamy love scenes and how to push the pain/pleasure envelope with her characters.”—Harlequin Junkie

“Fantastic. From scorching heat to raw emotion and then to a twisted situation with some pretty unsavory characters, this book really had it all. . . . If you love heat, intensity and a wealth of emotions, Ignited is a book for you! Thank you, Julie, for a phenomenal story and a great addition to the Most Wanted series.”—Read-Love-Blog

“Ignited is one word that truly describes the passion and connection of Cole August and Katrina Laron. . . . Ignited by lust, passion, love, and chemistry, they found out they complemented each other emotionally and physically.”—Four Chicks Flipping Pages

“Once again Kenner has written a book that reaches into your soul, pulls out all your emotions and leaves you with a smile.”—The Book Reading Gals

“Filled with secrets, danger, love, lust, and two people who’ll do anything for each other . . . Fall in love with Ignited like I did. Cole is that typical sexy bad boy who’ll do anything to protect those he loves and Kat is dead set on proving she’s not the innocent girl he thinks she is. There’s intense attraction, sultry sex scenes, and a criminal element to keep you on edge.”—Hines and Bigham’s Literary Tryst

Oh my word. Cole is yummy goodness wrapped in a dark past, a past he wants to protect Katrina from. Oh and he is an artist... swoon. Katrina is a strong woman with a very criminal past. She has been drawn to Cole since they met and has decided to finally do something about it. I thought Evan and Tyler were hot, but they do not hold a candle to Cole. Oh my, prepare for ereader meltage. I was glued to this read and suffered a serious book hang-over in the morning. It was so worth it. Lots of heat, a relationship long in the making, and just enough suspense to keep me on edge made this one one I will most likely read again. I am sad this series is over. The only thing that bugged me about this book was the cover. I wish that it had embraced his ethnicity. That could have been scorching hot!

We all remember Kat & Cole from the previous two books.

Cole is one of our three hot guys ☺
Three of Chicago's most famous (infamous) businessmen.
Cole and Tyler just opened a new Gallery - Cole is an artist himself.

He didn't have the best life growing up. There were gangs and bad decisions, but he left all that behind and is now, among other things, (like owning a strip-club ) a very rich gallery owner.

Kat is the best friend of Angelina - our first books' heroine.
She's been raised by her con-artist Dad and other than the money she earns from working at a coffee shop - non of her savings have come from legal jobs.
But now she's finally willing to grow up and put down roots - like get a better job - buy a house etc....

And .... she wants Cole.

She's always been interested in him - but she doesn't do relationships - she doesn't really do sex either. Battery operated boyfriends are much easier - and they don't remind her of the past.

Cole has been attracted to Kat ever since he saw her for the first time years ago.
But he doesn't do love - he would only hurt her. He thinks his past doesn't allow him to have feelings for anyone. That - and his BDSM side - he needs to receive and inflict pain to be able to live his life relatively anger free.

But Kat is not scared of that side of him - she even looks forward to experience everything with Cole.

But then her father suddenly shows up in Chicago - she thought he's out of the criminal life - but he's knee-deep in a Mafia-related mess and he needs his daughter's help.
And Kat only knows one guy who could help her now.

What will happen to Kat & Cole?
Will there be a HEA?
Will everybody die at the end? o.

4.25 stars-IGNITED is the third storyline in J. Kenner’s contemporary, adult Most Wanted erotic romance series-a spin off from her popular Stark Trilogy-focusing on three friends who own and operate both legal and illegal businesses. This is Cole August and Katrina Laron’s storyline-two battered souls whose earlier lives couldn’t have been more dissimilar yet the same.

Told from first person POV (Katrina) the focus on the storyline is the building relationship between Cole and Katrina-one that has been simmering for a long time. Their mutual attraction to one another is tempered by Cole’s inability to let go of the past-a past that controls almost every aspect of his life and one that he doesn’t want affecting or destroying the woman with whom he is falling in love. When Katrina’s grifter father comes looking for help, Cole knows that her relationship with her dad will set into motion a spiral from which they may not return.

Katrina and Cole’s relationship is based on mutual needs. Cole is a businessman, an artist and a man with needs both in and out of the bedroom-needs that ease the demons of anger, pain and betrayal. Cole’s younger life is the stuff of nightmares and his methods of coping may be out of Katrina’s comfort zone. Cole must learn to forgive himself before he is able to let Katrina into his heart. He is numb to the world and needs to feel in order to survive.

J. Kenner pulls the reader into the world of one man whose need for control takes him into the back rooms and secret societies in the world of BDSM. We have been given very little information in previous storylines about Cole August; not about his lifestyle nor his needs. Cole’s story is fleshed from betrayal, anger, dissolution and pain.

Oh boy, where to begin...the third and final installment in the Most Wanted trilogy wraps up with Ignited. In this story, we read about the final Knight- Cole, and Kat (Angie's best friend). We first met the two in characters in Wanted, and then again, briefly, in Heated (the second book in the series), but in this story- the author shines her light on former bad boy, now artist Cole, and former grifter Kat. Both Cole and Kat have secrets. Dark secrets. One of them being hot for each other. Because of their pasts, neither one is eagerly anticipating revealing their true selves, but Kat wants a relationship with Cole, and she's all in. Too bad it takes Cole almost 40% of the book to actually physically connect with Kat. I felt at first that Cole wanted the image of Kat more than Kat herself. However, once these two finally came together, my Kindle almost melted. Slowly revealing their secrets to each other, helped both Kat and Cole heal. And those secrets were dark. You understand why Cole acts the way he acts, and why he needs pain with his pleasure. As for Kat, there really wasn't much to her backstory, but her secret was sad, and explained some of her hang-ups, and why she connected so well to Cole.
Unfortunately, all stories need a conflict and if their respective backgrounds weren't enough of a deterence, throw in Kat's grifter father, who has gotten in deep with the mob and needs help getting out. Help that can lead to murder if not done correctly. Cole agrees to help Kat and her father fix his problem, and keep him alive at the same time. But the price Kat might have to pay to help keep her father alive, or Cole from doing something he would regret, could cost her her relationship with Cole.
