This book is aimed at new teachers, but more experienced teachers who are not as tech-literate may also benefit.
The book is divided into sections, each dealing with some aspect of teaching - classroom management, assessment, communication with stakeholders, etc. In each section, the authors briefly review one to several apps, websites, or technologies that are useful for k12 teachers. For example, ClassDojo is reviewed in relation to classroom management and motivating students. Quizlet and similar sites are mentioned in relation to online studying and review (if I recall correctly).
Each section is short - only a few pages - and so the reviews are very short. Personally, I think this is fine - if a new teacher thinks that something looks useful, they can look up more info online. The book aims more at just making teachers aware of what is available for specific teaching needs / situations. I have not read through thoroughly yet, but I was familiar with every site / app / technology that I saw mentioned. All (of the ones I saw) are high quality and belong in a book like this.
Each section ends with a vignette from a classroom teacher about their use of one of the technologies reviewed in that section.
The main drawback is that the book seems to be self published and that shows in the editing. I found several typos and grammar mistakes even in just my brief look through. Those are easily fixed and do not hurt the content of the reviews, but they do, I think, detract from the professionalism of the book. In its current state, I might think twice before suggesting my school spend money purchasing it for new teachers or for the PD library, for example.
