5.0 out of 5 stars Now I Understand Ikigai Better
By HughSimpson on August 6, 2022
Yes Yukari has made my study of IKIGAI easier to understand especially since she is herself Japanese. I have been taking an ALUX workshop on Ikigai but Yukari has spent more time discussing the REAL Ikigai as opposed to what I learned in the workshop.

For example, Yukari discusses that Ikigai goes way beyond work though she does discuss it in relationship to work. The Japanese say Ikigai is related more to paying attention to DETAILS in all aspects of life - family, friends, hobbies, volunteering, food, and work. By doing this the Japanese people are more attuned to the PRESENT like enjoying the short time of the cherry tree blossoms at their peak, which is a very short time. Shopping is not just a past time but an opportunity to see new products and study them in DETAIL themselves and not rely on social media or advertising campaigns.

As one of the great hippie philosophers said and was the title of his book BE HERE NOW is practiced in REAL Japanese IKIGAI!

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple, yet beautiful explanation of IKIGAI and pursuing Happiness
By Michelle on February 28, 2021
Mid-size pocket book that is packed with a beautiful inspiration to taking action toward your happiness. I first heard the term Ikigai in Candice Kumai’s Kintsugi Wellness and I wanted to learn more. Yukari Mitsuhashi lays it out in simple to understand terms and in a very fluid way. I enjoyed this short read and I often times keep it by my bedside table so I can refer back to it for a gentle Ikigai reminder when needed.
