"What a great old folk song this is!" It's one of those you want to listen to over and over and it's makes you feel good. You just can't help yourself! You find yourself singing right along, even in public. Who cares who's listening? And you learn the words almost right away! There were not many Australian groups that broke thru in the 1960's (I don't think there were any) with all the competition that was out there, much less a folk quartet, and of course, we all know about the British invasion. They domimated the charts here in the U.S. so it was hard for any other group to have a hit in the top ten.
I understand the lead singer (the woman) is recoverng in a Melbourne hospital from a brain hemorrage. Godspeed to her and we all wish her a complete recovery.

I believe Judith Durham hitting the high notes in this song is the sweetest sound an adult human can make.

Very good song from the early sixties by this group. Lead female vocalist has a strong, clear voice. A song I have always liked to hear.
