I took "I'll Be Seeing You" on vacation to Mexico thinking I would read it on the plane and if I had downtime, well I ended up making my vacation revolve around this book. I took it with me to the beach, the pool, and even to breakfast. It's just that good!!
A wonderful piece of historical fiction. The author weaved real life events and small details into the fabric of this story. I felt like I had left the present time and was peeking in on the lives of her characters from a doorway. The plot was well thought out and executed with precision; I felt closure and like the story had been completed after reading the last page.
Pearl, Rose, Cpt. Dalton, and Rafe are definitely worth reading about.
Bravo, Gia Cooper!
The religious content closely represents the sort of teaching that I grew up with. I have since moved away from much of that, but it was very nostalgic to read. What's more it fits the period well.
I'm so glad I got to read this book, and I'll recommend it to anybody.
*Full disclosure, I'm sleeping with the author.
Great character development and reading pace.
I do hope there is a sequel
The cover is beautiful
Hard to get into because not only is this a great twist to the movie Pearl Harbor, but the character names are not only similar but one exactly the same. "Rafe". Had the names been different I may.
have been able to enjoy the book more, but instead I kept comparing stories.
None. It was beautiful. The story differed enough from the Pearl Harbor movie, that had one not have loved the movie as much as I, would probably not notice the similarities.
Overall, this book deserves a place on your shelf. I expect to see many more novels written by Ms.Cooper and I will continue to read and enjoy watching her grow as an author.
