Kids and Adults Love this Book
- I think this book is about kindness to strangers and to your family and to everyone who is different from you. (Ava, Age 6 Foreword Reviews 2020-04-24)
- I like how everyone is having fun. The sad people get happy because someone wants to play with them. (Neve, Age 5 Foreword Reviews 2020-04-24)
- I absolutely love the interaction between the text and artwork by Jane Sanders. (Pallas Gates McCorquodale Foreword Reviews 2020-04-24)
- Love the inclusion. Good for all groups. Special education, race, LGBT. Sending copies to all my family and friends. (Review by Lisa 2020-6-11)
- I love the message of accepting and loving others that are different from you, especially in these times. Explaining acceptance of others can be tough when you're speaking to young children. But I think this book explains it well, and the illustrations help kids visualize how people can be different from each other. Even my 4-year-old is pointing out how different the people are in the book, and we talk about how no one is better than anyone else. (Review by Diane, parent of two kiddos 2020-6-12)

Review
“If I could recommend only one picture book purchase on tolerance to add to every child’s home library, I’ll Walk With You by Carol Lynn Pearson would be it. The diverse and modern aesthetic of the illustrations and the poetic message that everyone deserves to be loved no matter what is beautifully depicted on each page. It effortlessly ties the essence of tolerance together and is a truly wonderful read.” ― PBS SoCal Published On: 2020-11-13

I like how everyone is having fun. The sad people get happy because someone wants to play with them. -- Neve, Age 5 ― Foreword Reviews Published On: 2020-04-24
I absolutely love the interaction between the text and artwork by Jane Sanders. Each verse is accompanied by what at first appears to be discrimination or disregard but is actually a show of love. My favorite is the uppity shopkeeper who is rushing towards a shabby woman who has entered her boutique. It seems like she is rushing to shoo the woman out, but she was just in a hurry to cuddle the baby hidden just out of sight. -- Pallas Gates McCorquodale ― Foreword Reviews Published On: 2020-04-24
“School is near and already here for some, and I can’t think of a more important message to teach your little readers: Walk with those who are different no matter their outer appearance, where they come from or what their abilities are.” -- Meg Raby, Author Published On: 2020-08-09

- Reviewed in the United States on November 14, 2024I love, love, love this book! I purchased this for 2 different friends' baby showers; using the book instead of a baby shower card. Both parents were very thankful for the gift and loved the message.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2024Children have a wonderfully natural capacity for curiosity and acceptance of others. It is only when they (we) are taught to despise, reject and be suspicious and fearful, do we as children, become prejudiced. This examination of the importance of bravery to accept another as they are, whom others may have or be tempted to reject is an important tool for discussion with children and adults. The world is filled with great people who come in different packages that none of us gets to choose. This book will help that important discussion of that truth along.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 24, 2023My family is comforted by this book. Pearson represents a lot of differences and shows appreciation for each person. I like how the book is centered around loving others without being religious. Just simple good human interactions and respect. I am pleased that the kids i know who have read it, enjoy it. Including my 7yo son.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 18, 2024I think this book teaches everyone very important lessons about accepting everyone no matter what.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 13, 2020Amazing! Wow. I read it with my daughter (7) and it is her favorite book. Mine, too! It is so applicable to what's going on today... all the oppression/hate (ableism, xenophobia, simply being different) worded in a kid-friendly way!
I've read it to her cousins... ages 4-10 and they've liked it, too!
*only sad that the book came in with dents and it looked used even though I bought a new one. I take amazing care of my books so I'm sad but considering how amazing the book is... no stars will be taken off.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2020My 2 year old daughter absolutely loves this book and flips through it several times a day. She already has part of it memorized. The message is so perfect. Love and acceptance. It often brings tears to my eyes to hear my daughter sing the words. The illustrations are fun, bright and captivating. This will be a family favorite for many years to come.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 19, 2020Such a great book. It covers lots of differences and shows how to be accepting of others. My four year old with a speech delay loves the “if you don’t talk like some people do” page. He also benefits from the repeated text “that’s how I’ll show my love for you” because he can repeat on each page.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 2, 2020Definitely what the world needs right now. We got it for our future kids that we don't even have yet haha. Illustrations are fantastic! And words are gold. Perfect for kids. Loved it so much we bought a few more for family and friends to further spread the gospel of love and inclusion.
LOVE.
