About the Author
Carolinda Witt developed T5T over a period of five years and has since taught thousands of students and a select group of teachers. Carolinda took into account the difference between our largely sedentary, modern way of living to that of the manually intensive lifestyle of the monks who developed The Five Tibetan Rites. With input from highly qualified health practitioners and the living laboratory of her own classrooms, she created a unique step-by-step method of learning the Rites that gives people's bodies time to develop strength and flexibility. The result is T5T - a safer and easier method of learning the Rites that strengthens the core from the inside out to protect the lower back and neck. Knowing how most people restrict their breathing capacity and thereby vitality, she incorporated energy breathing and simple relaxation methods into T5T. T5T is a daily dose of well-being which takes just 10 -15 minutes a day.

I recommend giving it a try, it's different and can be as easy or as challenging as you want.
The book is written in an easy-to-read conversational tone and has a contemporary layout with lots of space, loads of tips to keep you on track, and – the thing I love most – is dotted throughout with quotes from people as diverse as Hippocrates, Picasso, Thich Nhat Hanh, Gandhi, Emerson, and Ursula Le Guin, to name just a few.
In the words of Carolinda Witt, “There is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ body and people needed various modifications due to anatomical and fitness variations.” The result is a book so comprehensive that it will suit anyone and everyone who wants to incorporate the Rites into their lifestyle. Are you an attention-to-detail person? This is the most thorough book you could find. Do you want to skip the detail? Go for the bullet points and summaries. Are you a ‘visual person’ who prefers to make your own observations? Learn from the array of photographs illustrating both correct and incorrect technique. Regardless of your personal style and your level of experience, if practising the Rites in a way that won’t result in injury is important to you, this is a delightful book that will show you precisely how to do that.
No doubt the author is well meaning in her attempt to introduce the Five Tibetans to a wider audience, but it is clear that she has added various things that are not in the original teachings. Read the original book by Peter Kelder.
The book is very well written taking you step by step through each exercise breaking down each movement to ensure you are performing correctly. This approach takes a bit longer but reduces the risk of doing the exercises incorrectly and avoiding strain. In conjunction with the DVD an excellent programme I've recommend to many friends and family
