Top Customer Reviews
I read Get Out of Your Mind and Into Your Life: The New Acceptance and Commitment Therapy first and found that to be more academic and harder to understand. I strongly recommend reading "The Happiness Trap.." first because it makes ACT more understandable and accessible, but once you have a good grasp of ACT, "Get Out of Your Mind..." is a terrific book too.
Russ Harris is incredible and I recommend all his materials.
The illustrated guide does not simplify the standard material and is missing the depth of the regular book.
And for my fellow therapists (and really any other human services/health professionals), this book is a great introduction to ACT. Dr. Harris' book, ACT Made Simple, is how I learned ACT (and highly recommended for professionals who wish to learn). The Happiness Trap is, essentially, ACT Made Simple made simple.
Enjoy, I hope this book brings to you as much of a positive change in your life as it did me.
