Awesome quality as usual from Illy. And most important: Very fine ground - excellent. However, incredibly expensive! This coffee costs about $12 on local stores, and $7-$9 in all stores all over in Europe. I had to pay over $14 in here. Why? Other than the price, this is one of the best coffees around.

Strong Flavor, Never Bitter

I was introduced to Illy about three or four years ago. It is now a staple in our house. The coffee flavor is strong without any hint of bitterness. We use either a one or four cup stainless steel Bialetti espresso pot. The size of the pot's basket determines the amount of coffee used in relationship to the amount of water the base holds. That's all the measuring we do. We will have an espresso in the evening before retiring and by drinking the decaffeinated version, it does not interfere with sleeping. If making drip coffee, we use roughly 2.5. tablespoons per 8 ounces of water for all the Illy coffee brands. We've tried the medium and dark roast and enjoy both those flavors very much.

I have pretty much tried almost all major coffee brands out there. This one is the simply best! From he moment you open the can, the room is filled with a rich coffee aroma. It's fine ground so I used it with my manual espresso machine and the results are amazing. I keep it in the fridge and it stays fresh for almost 2 weeks, but I usually end up consuming it within 10 days or so.

We’ve ordered this coffee can and to our surprise when we opened the shipping box we have found the can without a cap! How are we going to close the can once we break the seal as it needs to be shut tight? Hadn’t we kept our old coffee can which is now empty, we would’ve been in big trouble! Otherwise, it’s the best decaf coffee around!

Super smooth flavor, no bitterness! One thing-- the can is vacuum sealed and kind of exploded in my face when I broke the seal so maybe open outside to avoid a mess!! Was shipped to Denver/higher altitude so maybe that was the reason!

I know that this is excellent coffee and a splurge worth the high price but mine arrived without the screw top lid, and the can was bulging. When I opened the pop top, coffee grounds sprayed out. So if you get one that is bulging, save yourself the cleanup, and don't even open it. To Amazon's credit, there is already a replacement on the way.

This may come across as a little petty, but I can see this being an issue for most customers. Although this product arrived on time (and sealed), it did so without a cover! I am currently trying to finish up another Illy coffee product, so that I can actually store this one after opening its freshness seal; an option most won't probably have. I cannot believe it didn't have one when the seller received it, so why did the seller remove it? Where did it go?!? I don't really feel like going through the bother of returning it, since I will have a compatible cover soon, but really...I paid for the whole can and didn't receive a whole can...

I'm generally not a fan of Decaf, however in the evening the taste of a fresh espresso is so nice. This has a full robust flavor and an excellent crema. I have given it to friends that are coffee snobs and they couldn't tell from the flavor it was decaf and remarked it was excellent.

I am an addict for coffee and I have also worked as a barista for 8 months, so I know a little bit about coffee (oh and I'm 100% italian!). This is by far the best decaf coffee I've ever had.

I drink quite a lot of coffee during the day and I like to have a nice coffee in the evening after dinner, but for obvious reasons I can't have normal coffee that late so I go for decaf.
I've tried different brands and I was always a little bit disappointed because they didn't taste ''coffeeish'' enough!!! But this one actually does. You can't really feel the difference between caffeinated/decaf coffee and that's why I love it, because to me it tastes like if I were drinking normal coffee instead of a decaf one!

The coffee sent did not match the product in the photo. The photo is of the 0.5% blend (blue tin), but the 1.5% blend was sent (green tin). I now see that the description says less than 1.5% - but then the photo should have been of the correct product.”Packaging may vary” is not the same as product may vary!

My rating is not for the coffee - in my view illy is one of the best. It is for provision of the wrong product - I specifically wanted to try the blue blend.

My consultant surgeon informed me caffeinated coffee is a “No! No!” Now, so I investigated various coffees. This is ideal for my taste, a full flavour. Delivered quickly, it comes in substantial containers which are great in the kitchen and, when empty, ideal for noisy grandchildren who would like to be percussionists or just for storing pens, etc!

Having tried all Illy Coffee this has to be by far the worst tasting.

Decaffeinated, deflavoured and..The
aroma has all but gone! The aroma being one of the most important prerequisites for a coffee connoisseur ;)

The grinds have a distinct compost aroma and the flavour is akin to the taste of burnt oven fries with smoke from a smoldering cigar in the aftermath of the background taste.

The grinds are so fine they filter through the filter paper and the coffee maker inbuilt gauze passing into the coffee and depositing a
stain to both cup and teeth.

Overall an disappointing product other decaf coffee Taylor's for example have not lost their flavour or pungent aromas ultimately do not recommend.

I don't often find that I enjoy drinking 'decaff' coffee - this one I think you will struggle to know your are drinking 'decaff'. Thanks for the previous reviews as this lead me to purchase and think its well worth the purchase. Allows me to indulge in my italian coffee machine, more often. I suspect I will end up buying more decaff than normal coffee!
