The doctor had finally been appointed to a coveted position in the medical field. His family was ecstatic until it started to impact the attention they received from him. Mona, spurred on by her mother, had made it her mission to be the BEST of everything that concerned him—best doctor's wife, best mother, best lover. All her time and focus were on him. After trying to convince him their marriage was in trouble, she took it upon herself to shock him. And boy did he react. My favorite scene was him surprising Mona and her young ‘friend’ in a restaurant and issuing a threat that didn’t require weapons or fists. His dragging her from the restaurant and the sex encounter in the front seat of her new SUV was not only smoking hot, I thought it would ignite my iPad. Lord have Mercy.
Ms. Brown, although I dread the wait time between your books, I appreciate the time you take to publish a quality product. When I really get into a good book, nothing annoys me more than numerous senseless errors. Thank you for making sure your fans have a pleasurable experience.
Chicki does a wonderful job of showing the frailty of the human heart, as well as the insecurities people everywhere suffer from. She points out how a marriage can become off-track even to the point of destruction, if not tended to, and when communication fails. Yet, she does a wonderful job of highlighting how true love can stand the test of time and overcome the greatest of obstacles.
Well done, Mrs. Brown.
I do everything in my power to avoid revealing spoilers in my reviews, so all I'm going to say is that “I’m Losing You” is the perfect title for this book because Mona and Vic had to find each other again. This story truly tugged at my heart, especially in the Epilogue which caused me to get a little misty eyed. Whether you have read the first three books in the series or not, don’t sleep on one-clicking this Amazing Story.
I can't wait to read Nick's story, "I Want You Back".
In Mona and Victor's story, I was able root for both of them because they are both likeable people. At times, I thought Vic was clueless, but that's the mark of a nicely-drawn character. The book explores – among other themes - the need inside each of us to have something to call our own, something we excel at, and it's that something Mona reaches for when things turn difficult.
It was good seeing the members of the Stafford family again and I look forward to Nick's romance.
I'd have to say I'm Losing You is my favorite installment so far. I loved the story of mature romance between Vic and Mona, a married couple. Some folks think romance dies once a couple marries. Brown shows that is not necessarily true, but marriage does take work. Vic and Mona lose their way, but the love never dies, and the appeal of their tale is watching them find their way back to one another. How is that not great romance? Another awesome romantic tale by Chicki Brown.
