It's been a long wait for those of us who fell in love with Jesse's music on Rising Star to get his debut album and it was definitely worth it. His style has a classic rock vibe but with a air of freshness that is truly satisfying. From the opening notes of the song "Preaching Like the Pope" which details his journey from winning the only season of Rising Star and the record company trying to get him to change who he is as an artist to doing thing his way to the closing track "Tamed" you know you're in for a treat. He gives the listener a satisfying blend of originals and covers that shows him to be a true original. His decision to put a cover version of Screamin' Jay Hawkins' "I Put a Spell on You" (the song he performed on his Rising Star audition) was a stroke of pure brilliance as it shows just how far he's come.
I am totally in love with this album and my only criticism is that I wish it was longer. It's the album my 1960's vintage turntable has been waiting for.

WHOA! This is the No.1 Best Album I've ever been privileged to own. Mostly original songs, each is beautifully composed, well-produced, and brilliantly arranged. The result is not just ear candy but is a rich meal entire, including dessert.

Jesse Kinch's masterful guitar work and, especially, his distinctly talented vocals are off-the-charts for rich tones and exquisite modulations. No music library should be without such gut-deep rhythm and blues, uniquely wrought --- the music that lives large in Jesse's soul. His "Rising Star" soars to the heights because he truly is . . . NOT LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE.

The long wait is finally over! I didn't miss one appearance of Jesse on Rising Star, and thought at the time that he was extra special and deserved all the accolades he was getting at that time. I got both the CD and the vinyl as I love my vinyl's, there's just something about them. I have a 1960's Magnavox stereo console and this album plays like a dream on it. Jesse's great voice is rich and strong over all 6 speakers. How Do I Reach You is a gorgeous song and probably my favorite on the album. This Boy showcases on the stanzas how beautiful Jesse's tone is on the slower ballads. The faster songs bring out the grittiness in his voice. I wish there was some way he could have included Fortunate Son on the album too, he sang this one perfect on Rising Star. Again, I love the vinyl album, The photography on the front and back is great, back pic shows how darn good looking Jesse is! If you choose the vinyl, it also comes with a CD, songs are on two vinyls. Overall, fabulous release, great job Jesse!

Jesse has unparalleled power in vocals that he sings through so beautifully; most try this but all they do is bring pain to the ears, not Jesse!!
Jesse's rendition of Billie Jean is a masterpiece telling a powerful story in the way Michael Jackson could not.

Jesse Kinch is one of the few musicians can do great and good music nowadays! His album debut is perfect, in sound, arrangements, vocals instruments. He and his band has done a great and quality job here and they can bring to the present the feeling of good rock & roll from the 60 and 70. KUDOS to Jesse and his band mates! keep on doing good music! Only a note: the album could have the lyrics of the songs, specially because Jesse write great lyrics and it would have been beautiful layout there.

Long and hard road to get here but this is a special album. It may be the best new "Rock" album I have purchased in years. This is a smooth combination of the hard rocking expected and the ballads that blend very well with his style. Glad Jesse stuck to his guns to produce a work that does not compromise his artistry.

Having first watched Jesse Kinch on Rising Star I've been keen for him to release his first album. Its finally here and its a strong and powerful debut with many standout performances. Masami (The Elegant Beauty) and Rain on the Dog top my favorites list as does Preaching to the Pope and I'm not everybody else.

Anyone that enjoys classic 70's rock will not be disappointed.
