Great product. My workflow is a combination of FL Studio for step-sequencing, sample tweaking, micro-level (submix) arranging and mixing, as well as simple recording, with Live8 for messing around with macro-level arrangements / stems, and Reaper for more complex recording/routing chores. Fruity (i.e. FL Studio) is the most fun though, and really lives up to their motto "fastest way from your brain to your speakers." They also have a very vibrant forum community. If you ask a stumper question you may have it answered by one of their dev leads - these people are very in touch with user needs.
FLS has an undeserved reputation as being a toy, which is way far from the truth - it is more complete and more intuitive than almost anything else. The only thing it's light on is if you want to do things like multi-track live recording and complex routing, in which case Reaper (or the highly overrated and overpriced Pro Tools) is a better choice - like I say I use Reaper + FLS together - you can even run FLS as a VST or ReWire slave from within Reaper.
The one caveat is whether to buy this edition (Signature) or the Producer bundle for $100 less. For your extra $100 you get the following, with my comments as follow:
SoundFont sample player - WHY? You can get SFZ free from Cakewalk
Video player - Never used it. I don't do much with videos
DirectWave - This could be good if I didn't already have Kontakt.
Sytrus - MEH. Yet another FM synthesizer. IL's HARMOR is awesome but not included in this bundle.
Maximus - Awesome mastering / band-based compresso plugin; this i use alot, and I have several tools that are made for the same purpose
Hardcore - Good effects, especially since they include the Slayer guitar model synth.

I just received FL Studio 10 and it is intense. I can do anything with it I want and plugins that blow my mind. I was using another DAW before and I will tell you that this is worth much more than the price tag. It is incredible. There is a very steep learning curve on how to use, very steep, but well worth the work. You will start out slow because its complicated but on the flipside once you get the hang of it you can actually make music twice as fast (at least for me). It took me about 3 or 4 days to get a good grasp on the tools. The possibilities are endless when making songs. THE BEST PART OF THIS PRODUCT, aside from its ability to manipulate anything you want, is the ON-LINE SUPPORT (and YOUTUBE instructional videos). I asked a question last night and had a reply this morning to fix the problem. If you are going to buy a DAW buy this bundle, spend the money it is definitely worth it and you will pay twice as much trying to get this quality. (I am a deployed Soldier and this is my Anti-depressant lol.) Incredible stuff.

I've been using FL Studio since I was a young boy, and I'm glad to finally have my own copy. FL Studio is my main program in my workflow, and I use Maximus extensively. Sytrus is a wonderful synthesizer if you learn how to use it correctly. I personally favor Massive, but when I feel like, sometimes I make layers in Sytrus to add some extra FM or subtractive retro "zing" to my synth lines.

I highly recommend this software to someone who is serious about producing Electronic Music. However, this is also great for MIDI Orchestration. The piano roll is simply the best of all the DAW's.

Recording isn't its strong point, but it has tons of wav editing tools that get the job done well. I would die without Slicex. I only record guitar myself, but for someone in a rock band or such, unless they want to add lots of electronic or sequenced flair to their music, they might be better suited to a recording program like Cubase or Logic.

I actually bought this product then a day later returned it. Not because it was bad (i never even opened the box) but because at $300 it was more an impulse buy than a rational one. I downloaded the free version from off their website. The free one pretty much has everything that the purchased one has. It is missing a few mixes and you can't save your work but their website says when you download the free version you are getting I believe 95% of the product. It's not easy to use but that is expected. Its cheaper than pro tools and you can use it with a PC. It runs smoothly and if you have other peripherals those can work with this software too. Like most things, the more you use it, the easier and better you get with it so just practice with it. There are plenty of YT vids that teach you, as a first timer, how to use this software. There is a newer version out now too.

For beginners and professionals, the Signature Bundle is one world-class DAW that is hard to dismiss when you consider it's price-to-quality advantages. It is packed with features for the electronic music producer or composer. The lifetime free upgrade is a plus, if you're under a tight budget. But, even if cost is not an issue, it is great to know that you can simply update your version by simply going online, rather than buying a new version of the software.

For beginners, you will need to educate yourself before you can enjoy and master this capable music weapon. In addition to the user manual that comes available in the program (no printed version) , there are tons of tutorial available on Image Line's website and YouTube, as well as a number of tutors out there willing to teach you how to get started, including those at Sam Ash Music Store's free DAW lessons.

Even though this DAW is versatile for a multitude of musical taste, it is well-suited for EDM. EDM giants Avicii, Deadmau5, Porter Robinson, Cazzette, Basshunter, and Afrojack can vouch for this DAW's superb quality, sophistication and reliability to deliver all that is necessary to create great music production material. Highly recommended alternative to Ableton Live, MuTools MuLab, Sony Acid, Acoustica Mixcraft, Apple Garageband, Magix Samplitude,.MOTU, Avid Pro Tools, Cakewalk Sonar, Propellerhead Reason, Steinberg Cubase, PreSonus Studio One, Cockos Reaper, Apple Logic Pro. To top it off, Music Radar indicated FL Studio as the number one (out of 16) DAW music production software of 2013 in the world. 'nough said.
