Great Game! You may be developing coordination and keeping your brain active during gameplay. That's good for anyone wanting to avoid too much media that doesn't provide a healthy benefit in return. I've been playing this game for a long time starting with Temple Run I and tried all the games related to it like Subway Surfer, Forest Run and Disney's Brave.

    For those that haven't played the original, you run and are chased by monsters. You never stop running and if you stumble on something the monsters catch up to you. You can die in a bunch of different ways ( face planting into a tree, falling into the water, burning, getting caught by the monsters, etc.)
    TR2 takes the exact same formula, but adds little touches that make it a pretty refreshing sequel.
    Controls: As your character runs you can affect what they do. Swiping up makes him/her jump, swiping down is a slide, swiping to either side when presented with a split in the path sends you down that path. Leaning the Kindle (or whatever device) to the left or right moves you to the left or right of the path. TR2 added a lot more leaning into the game, making you move your device around a lot more than I did in the first one. You can also slide down ropes and ride mine carts, which is new.
    Collectables: While you run you collect coins which can be used to buy things in the store. These goodies add bonus points and extend the amount of time a power up lasts, or you can get new skins for your character. You will run into power ups while running around. On top of this is a trophy/achievement system that rewards you for doing in-game challenges (Run so many meters without collecting coins for instance)
    Graphics: Pretty much the same from the last game although it seems a bit crisper. Add that to the new environments and it's a nice change.
    Overall: Great additions to the original game. The in-game challenges and unlockables make you keep coming back for more. Good for all ages, my 8 year old, 16 year old and myself all play it!

    I only wish that the upgraded version kept the achievements that I had from the last version, like the abilities upgrades, character unlocks, coins, and gems. It kind of sucks having to start back over from scratch.

    P.S. April 16, 2014 - The "Easter" version also just wiped out my coins, gems, and achievements! I appreciate them updating this awesome game, but can't they let us keep what we have worked so hard for?

    UPDATE: May 28, 2014 - I will really want to start seriously playing this game again, but the app keeps automatically downloading and installing a newer version (like today) that totally erases all in-game progress. I think it's great that Imangi is still working on this game, but it almost seems like a punishment to spend time earning and unlocking stuff, and then have it wiped clean by a new version. I'm guessing it's to deter cheaters, but my extensive progress (lost last year to an update) was done honestly. It does tempt me to cheat to recover all the stuff that it took me hours (and some real cash spent on gem and coin packs) to get. It doesn't make me eager to recommend the game to anyone. I wonder if Imangi even cares?

    UPDATE: July 4, 2014 - I emailed Imangi Studios at the end of May, asking why did they steal $20 bucks from me by programming their update to wipe out all the gems and coins that I purchased with a gift card that I received. It is July, and they still have not replied to me. It says something about them that I didn't know when I started playing their games.

    Played on a Galaxy Note 2 running 4.4.2, the S Pen doesn't work with game.
    This is a Freemium game with all the Freemium junk that goes with this type of game, Adware that spies...
    It's actually fun to play, BUT if you read the newest reviews on the Google Play Store you'd see all people who updated to newest version there lost ALL purchases and current progress.
    Is that what awaits the Amazon App Store users?
    So if I see an update here on the Amazon App Store for Temple Run 2, my advice would be to ignore it or lose everything. Maybe that's why the free coin doubler for $4.99 is free today because an update will wipe it out...
    I usually never ever play these pay to win or pay to play Freemium games. I just downloaded this one to see if I actually was going to get the free $4.99 coin doubler and I did.
    The last app with a supposed free item Beach Buggy Racing didn't have any free item for downloading it=scam.
    If you like runners then this one is one of the better ones, but remember you're playing a Freemium game with adware that could sell your info to 3rd parties. Free isn't free and this apps sole purpose is pay to win through IAPs. You won't go very far in the game no matter how good of a player you are, it's setup for you to lose so you'll get frustrated and pay to win! My advice is to walk away before you get hooked into thinking you can win and spend more money than you'd pay for a triple A console title.
    As long as this business model makes money it will continue to exist. Only we the consumers can stop this pay to win model by not buying IAPs...

    This is a very good game, but it is extremely addictive, so if you have a deadline, you may want to postpone downloading it. One thing I really appreciate about it Is that it is free and there's very little advertising. The graphics are really good, and you do not have to pay a dime to go deep into the game. Indeed, I bought the Bolt character because I thought the developers really earned my dollar for not pestering me with advertisements and other annoying things. Too many games are 'free', but either make you wade through tons of ads, or let you play to a point and then force you to buy it. This game looks stunning, is fun, and discrete. if you have time to spare, by any means, get it.
