The Immersion RC Vortex Race Quadcopter has a one of a kind fold able mini quad frame making it easily accessible. It comes complete with a full graphic on screen display and a custom 5.8GHz video transmitter which feeds your video signal to headsets and monitors without interfering with 2.4GHz transmitter signals. All you need is a receiver and a battery. Everything else is included, from the SpiroNET Tx antenna, to the props.
The joined flight controller, 3 axis Accelerometer, with 3 axis Gyro and barometer, is already programmed with CleanFlight and will allow for supporting future updates via a USB port on the back of the quad for programming and updates. A set of 8 24-bit RGB LEDs sit on the tail of the Vortex, sandwiched safely between the upper, and lower frame plates. These LEDs are controlled by a dedicated 32-bit ARM processor.
The bendable Vortex camera mount supports both a flight cam and an HD camera. The flight cam is protected from impacts and is suspended from a vibration-dampened carbon-fiber plate. The camera can be tilted to ensure a good forward view during high-speed racing with the flexible bracket. You will never need the unnecessary camera batteries with the 3A switching regulator it allows any HD camera to be powered from the flight pack
A built in NexWaveRF 5.8GHz video transmitter, with 40 channel support, ensures compatibility with any 5.8Ghz A/V receiver out there. ImmersionRC’s exclusive RaceBand allows 8 pilots to fly together. The on-board OSD allows video transmitter channels to be chosen using the R/C transmitter and is compatible with all ImmersionRC/FatShark, Boscam, Team Black-Sheep, DJI, and ImmersionRC RaceBand channels.
The Vortex contains tuning parameters from Pro Racers right in the box. The OSD will setup the flight controller for you, all you have to do is select the prop size, racer, HD camera choice along with other perameters.

Utilizing Cleanflight on the laptop to make the adjustments was a breeze, once you learn how to use it. The learning curve is very small. Many YouTube videos if you need assistance. The camera is pretty decent (700TVL I believe). The clarity is pretty good too. I am using the FatShark Attitude V2 goggles. What is great about this quad is the OSD (On Screen Display) built right in. Your flight dynamics are right on the screen for quick reference. Altitude, Battery info (Volts and Amps), MaH used in flight, time in flight...etc) It's awesome. If you are new to setting up the dyanamics of the quad knows as PID (Proportional, Integral, and Derivative) settings, there are some presets you can choose from already built into the flight controller. Anywhere from Beginner settings to Advanced to All out racing.
The LEDs in the rear are extremely bright. Great if you are flying line-of-site so you can keep orientation if it gets out a little far. I highly recommend getting yourself a stock pile of 5030 (5x3) props. You WILL break them, whether it be from a crash or just grazing a few tree branches. They are thin but inexpensive. Stock up. I've crashed mine twice. Once was a cart-wheel for about 50ft. Broke 3 of the props, but that's it. The rest of the quad held up nicely. All four booms are foldable which absorbed much of the impact. I just folded them back out, snapping in place, and I was back up in the air.
Great, Great quad!! Highly recommended from an experienced quad pilot :))
1.Download clean flight
2.Plug your cortex into your PC with a mini usb
3.Change settings on your computer
One of the most commonly changed settings are the option to have motors NOT spin when armed.
I use this quad copter with a spektrum dx7 and a orangerx920 PPM receiver. Be SURE your receiver is PPM compatible or you will not be able to control the copter using your radio.
