This is Makyle and Samira’s story. Makyle is one of the Immortal Four, a demi-god and one of the rulers of the Fae. Samira was once a genie but is now an immortal human due to Makyle choosing to send her to earth without her powers rather than sending her to one of the seven levels of Hell for things she had no power over. If you have been reading this series then you will remember Samira from Immortal Rapture.
But this is not only about Makyle & Samira. We also get to follow what is happening with all of our other beloved characters. And something that I really enjoyed happened towards the end of the book. Actually there are a couple of really good twists in this one. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
Makyle was sentenced to visit and spend days in each level of the underworld for his actions in Immortal Raputre.
Samira is a genie.. Was a genie?? Kinda still is a genie?? Yea, we will stick with that… After being sentenced to the human world by Makyle she had her powers taken away became immortal. She has always hated Makyle for his decision. She didn’t ask to be in the human world, or for her powers to be taken away. She wanted freedom and thought the underworld would be just that for her. As much as the story is about Makyle, I honestly think this was more of Sam’s story. Her finding out who she is again, and who she loves. Especially after spending so much time hating him. The entire time we have known Makyle was always a little different than his brothers.
Makyle. An addition to this series I wasn't expecting, but love even more for his part in it. He was a bit stiff when we first met him, but now you see so much more of him and see an amazing addition to the series.
Sam is his match, though it took time for her to see it. I loved her spunk and watching her go toe to toe with the warriors and keep up with the women who love them.
The story comes to a head and everyone is settling down in some ways while there is still so much turmoil around them screwing it all up.
I enjoyed seeing Makyle's transformation as he found what was truly important and what he would do to protect those he cares for.
Sam is all spunk and sass and she fits right in with the amazing group we've come to know and love throughout this series.
This book brings it all together and by the end I'm excited and anticipating the conclusion to this series when it comes out!
I was particularly excited to read this book as my it featured the story of Makyle, one of the Immortal Four. Makyle has made a more and more appearances as the books have gone on, and I'm thrilled with the outcome of this particular story. Not only do we learn more about Makyle, but more about Samira. She's complex and damaged and awesome.
As always, the other characters are in full force. McMinimy has a way of pulling the reader into the world these Fae live in. They are family and it shows through their actions and their banter. McMinimy also seems to write the dialogue between them effortlessly. They make me laugh and cry. I just want to be there with them, going on the next adventure.
I can't wait for the next book, the epilogue gave me chills!!
I received an ARC (Advanced Reading Copy) for a fair and honest Review
Makyle is being punished in the 9 levels of the underworld. He is being tortured and doesn't know this issues it's causing with others that care for him. Samira is finally realizing her feelings and coming to terms with them. The Warriors never have a dull moment. I honestly don't know if they would know what to do if they didn't have an adventure to go on. Of course, it wouldn't be an adventure for them if other problems didn't pop up along the way. There are also a few surprises!!
Magen does such an amazing job of transporting you into the Fae's world. You feel like you are there with all of them and are part of their family. It's too bad that Kale has Kat, I would so take him!
