Editorial Reviews

A Night Owl Romance Reviews Top Pick ★★★★★ "....This book makes the reader think. I've never read such a unique mixture of witchcraft, murder, and heated romance. There were quite a few surprises that made my eyes bulge in surprise, and I loved every bit of it. If you love a jaw-dropping ending that will leave you awed, pick up a copy." -Night Owl Romance Reviews

★★★★★ 5 Stars
"...I really loved this book. It reeled you in from the beginning and didn't stop until the very last sentence. It has everything I love in a good book: Paranormal, mystery, the love interest, surprises. If there was a rating higher than 5 stars, this book would have received it. This is the first book I have read in a long time in the paranormal genre that kept me up until the early morning hours. Congratulations to Sherry Soule and a wonderful work of fiction." -Paranormal Romance Guild

Format: Kindle Edition
The story starts in present day New York City and follows Skylar Blackwell, who loves name brand fashions, and is a major shoe-addict. She claims to be quite insecure about her appearance, which makes her believable.

She loves living in her tiny apartment with closets filled with top-of-the-line outfits (did I mention that she adores shoes?) As a photographer, her life is perfect, until her boss gives her a rather harsh kick in the pants. A change of scenery after the death of an uncle, and a mysterious letter, sends her to the Pacific coast and her inheritance; a ghastly structure. Dark, dank, and far from anywhere, it is jokingly called Summerwind.

She meets several of the staff, who either stare at Skylar, or dismiss her as an inconvenient blip in their living-out-in-the-mysterious-boonies lives.

The exception is Dorian Delacroix, a man who exudes a remarkable likeness to one of the dark portraits that cover the walls at Summerwind. As caretaker, he is a hunk of brooding male who makes sparks spring to life inside Skylar. She soon learns that Dorian is a collection of imperfections, and she does her best to ignore his smoking-hot body, odd mannerisms, and secrets...even when he kisses her senseless.

The story twists and turns with suicides that could be murders, ghostly apparitions, and horse rides along the cliffs. The characters are quirky, the mansion is weirdly intriguing, and I found the heroine easy to like.

Skylar wants what most of us want; a normal life, a picket fence, and children with a man who adores her. She finds anything but. I lost myself in the budding romance, and the story contained enough spookiness to keep me reading until the very end.

Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Guest Reviewer - Cheryl:

I received Immortal Eclipse as an eBook for review on behalf Literal Addiction. I read the blurb and was really looking forward to it but have to admit that I tend to stay away from ghost stories and haunted house stories. But, I honor my obligations so I tucked in yesterday to see what this story had to offer. Skylar is a gifted photographer who has had photos on the cover of some of the best fashion magazines published. She also spends more than her fair share of money on designer shoes and clothes. Her glamorous life takes a turn and she is suddenly without direction. She has received several calls from her recently deceased uncle's attornet to handle his estate which was left to her when her Uncle died recently. She decides it is as good a time as any to go to California and see how the investigation into his death is proceeding and handle his estate.

From the moment she arrives in California she is warned away, harassed, haunted and threatened. Everyone she has met that works at her uncle's mansion, now her mansion, seems to dislike her. Oddly enough she expected better treatment from those that depended upon her for their livelihood. She finds that it is hard to trust any of them and some openly distrust her though they just met her. That is one of the things that is great about this book, the character development. You have no trouble seeing who the bad guys are but, there is some difficulty determining if those that seem like good guys really are good guys because everyone there has secrets and some of them involve Skylar though she is not aware of the secrets. One of the other things about Immortal Eclipse is the story line.

Skylar's uncle has died suddenly. He left her his estate Summerwind. She is abruptly fired from her job and decides she should take a break at Summerwind until she decides how best to go forward with her life. Skylar is also left an interesting but mysterious amulet.
On the way to Summerwind, Skylar is in a car accident. It is at this point she begins meeting the "staff" who take care of Summerwind. The estate has a large staff that counts on the income. Shortly after arriving, mysterious deaths begin occurring.
Weird things keep happening: Skylar thinks she hears chanting. She begins having dreams about someone who looks just like her. Skylar is confused; she's sad about the deaths, but she is also determined to find out what is going on.
Next we come to Dorian. Hot, hot hot. I want him to be my literary boyfriend lol. Talk about mysterious, Dorian gives new meaning to the word. He is cryptic, he won't share much about himself but there's an instant connection between he and Skylar. I enjoyed their back and forth banter as they get to know one another. Dorian tries everything to deny his developing feelings. He fights it with every breath until he realizes it is a losing battle.
Immortal Eclipse has many things: intrigue, mystery, memorable characters, sexual tension, and so much more.

Skylar becomes close with one of the staff, Emma. They form a friendship. To be honest, I would love to have Skylar as a friend. I was sorry when the book ended because I want more!!!! (said in a very whiny tone.)
I misjudged this book from the start. As soon as I saw the word FASHION, I wanted to gouge my eyeballs out with a fork. I don't care for fashion, make-up, shoes etc......but I like how Soule presented Skylar.
