Immortal Kiss is a romantic paranormal fantasy written by Laura Daleo. Since she was very young, Beth has had a secret friend who she never really got to see. He came to see her as a mist that would sometimes assume the general shape of a man. On her seventeenth birthday, he covered her bed with rose petals, and Beth could not help but realize that she was in love with this otherworldly being. Beth's best friend, Danny, has also been in love with her for years and, several weeks before she turned 25, suggested that, since they'd been going out together for four years, the two of them start living together. They were sitting on their favorite bench overlooking the beach when he made that suggestion, and he was tired of hearing about the mist and dealing with the emotional ambivalence Beth was feeling. That evening, Beth would finally get to meet the being behind the mist, and nothing would ever be the same again.
Laura Daleo's debut romantic fantasy novel, Immortal Kiss, is enthralling and entertaining. Beth's phantom lover turns out to be very real and quite irresistible, and it's fun to watch the two of them bring their metaphysical relationship into the real world. Phillipe Delon is a dream come true for Beth, and she's quickly swept up into his world, but Daleo plants the seeds of discord early on in their budding romance, cueing the reader for something momentous to occur. I enjoyed seeing how the author tied vampires and vampirism with Egyptian mythology making her tale stand out and giving it dimension. While the story has a strong romantic theme, it contains no sexually explicit or erotic scenes, and the coming of age story implicit in Immortal Kiss would seem suitable for mature young adults as well as for an adult audience. Daleo has a planned sequel, Bound by Blood, which promises to continue the compelling tale of Beth and her vampire. Immortal Kiss is highly recommended.

Gripped in the mystery of the mist from the very beginning, your curiosity will be even further piqued as Laura Daleo unveils layer after layer of the unknown in Immortal Kiss. This sexy and romantic fantasy will have you on the edge of your seat with bated breath, anxiously waiting to turn to the next page. Daleo has crafted a very different take on vampires and romance. She leads you along a thrilling journey filled to the brim with questions, and a nagging feeling that there are deep, dark secrets that just might put her main character, Beth, at great risk. Writing from Beth's perspective, Daleo allows you to get inside the mind of this smitten young woman. As she plunges further and further into the vampiric world of her beloved, will she come to recognize herself as being captivated or captured?
Immortal Kiss is an exceptionally well-written paranormal fiction. The concept of shifting from living a human life to existing in a world of vampires is one that kept me from putting Daleo's Immortal Kiss down. I simply had to know what was going to happen next. What would become of Beth? Would she be safe and would she make the right decisions? I could almost hear her thoughts as my own. I could almost feel the spine tingling fear that she felt at times. Ah, and due to Laura Daleo's skillful writing, I could feel the depth of her love for her beloved vampire mate. I highly recommend Immortal Kiss for vampire and romance lovers alike!

Review by Author Murry
While I raided the kitchen, Philippe prowled the streets in search of human blood... Beth love has no boundaries, LOL. A human, she was in love with a vampire.
His mist was around all her life. Or was it? His and her transfers into something they allow to happen because of an infatuation is a story of a romance that is deadly.
Of course, as a human, I laughed at the vampire and human relationship they had, but the writing was well thought out and enjoyable. Ms. Daleo characters are colorful and set up for a sequel.
The storyline has twists and turns that keep the reader wanting more. In the end, you are sucked into the next level of Beth and Philippe's relationship to be able to love each other without vampire turmoil.
Beth is on the occasion of her 25th birthday, and all seems well with every aspect of her life--until the one day that mysterious "mist" spirit that has been visiting her in secret and bringing her boundless joy during all her formative years finally finds the opportunity and circumstance to finally reveal himself to her. He is Phillipe , a charming and protective vampire, and the soul mate Beth has waited her entire life to commit herself to.
The mutual love between them that grows day by blessed day is literally one for the ages, and Beth is all too happy to follow her heart to learn all about the love that's been around her, but that she literally wasn't able to embrace. But is it truly all that she hopes it to be? Or knows in her heart to be true? When Beth finds herself at her most vulnerable, mysterious individuals with secrets from Phillipe's past invite themselves into the star-struck relationship that set Beth and Phillipe on a course that will challenge them to confront a decision made years past that will determine the course of their life together--forever.
The construct of the physical book took me out of the narrative at points, as there are spelling and punctuation errors peppered throughout, as well as formatting issues that interrupt the physical flow of the text layout. I also felt that some of the plot points were arrived at too conveniently, with no seductive lead-to, and that others, when arrived at, didn't allow a digestive juice to break the deliciousness into something that we could have really enjoyed to savor. I would have loved to see the author explore these areas on deeper levels, if only to get a bit more color into the experience, or understand the character's emotion a bit more.
All of this being said, I understand over and above what's at the heart of all this hard, planned out work--and that's the author's love for story and presenting a tale with characters that are relatable, engaging, and best of all, humanly flawed--even though one or three of them may not be human any longer. I also was able to look past the mechanical errors and truly enjoy this different spin on the vampire legend, learn more about what it is to be one through Ms. Daleo's passionate creativity. Story is story is story, and that's something we can all appreciate.
