Being a bit of a vampire-phile, I find myself constantly searching for the next vampire series to reach out and grab, or, more appropriately, bite me. I believe I have found my holy grail of vampire novels. You see, the Vlad books are typically a bit gory for my tastes, while the Twilight series is campy, sophomoric, and I feel, is most appealing to teenage girls. Mr. Ogan has delivered a tale at breakneck speed, one that jumps out of the starting gate and never loses steam. A tale filled with life lessons, love, sex, action and adventure. Complete with new insights into the powers of the immortal vamps, and fresh takes on the complex inner workings of their existence. From page 1 until the very end, Immortal Relations promises to have you on the edge of your seat and begging for more...

I received 'Immortal Relations' as a prize from a blog-hop, and I'm glad I did. An interesting new take on a vampire community. I enjoyed the basic premise of the story and the characters were fresh. Just the right amount of conflict and resolution to make it a fast read. I especially enjoyed the analytical and tactical thinking used for solving the crisis that arose in the plot.
And I have to give anyone who who can pull off first-person writing many kudos! (It's a difficult style to write!)

This novel rates number one in vampire writings, and close to the top in science fiction. Ogan is an excellent writer. There is an occasional misspelled word, but it does not detract from the quality of the book. Ogan shows a deep knowledge of warfare and weapons perhaps from his service as a major in the USAF. The killing of others is handled very well and realistically. It is heavy on sexual content, but again done well. I shared the book with a friend who came back to me and said, "I think this writer has overdosed on Viagra." I laughed. I also liked the writing in first person since it showed each person's involvement and participation in the main theme of bringing the story to the front. It is not necessary to read the books in order unless you are one of those people who prefer it that way. The books stand alone. I read the second, the first, and the third. Loved all three and look forward to number four. It depicts vampires as friends of humans rather than monsters. It also shows a great love for animals.
