From the Back Cover
In a spellbinding new Argeneau novel from New York Times bestselling author Lynsay Sands, a dangerous rescue is just the beginning of red-hot adventure . . .
Ever since Domitian Argenis recognized Sarita as his life mate, he’s been waiting for the perfect moment to claim her. Those fantasies did not include him being chained to a table in a secret lab or both of them being held hostage by a mad scientist. Somehow, they have to escape . . .
Sarita has seen some crazy things as a cop, but nothing to rival Domitian. A vampire? Seriously? But his healing ability, incredible powers, and their mind-blowing physical connection—none of it should be possible, yet her body knows differently. Now, not only do they have to save each other, but other innocent lives are at stake. Failure is not an option, for Sarita intends that Domitian show her exactly what an eternity of pleasure feels like . . .

If you start to feel that way, PUSH THROUGH. There's a point where it feels like a switch is flipped & suddenly I was flipping pages & highly engrossed in the story. On a relationship level, Sarita & Domitian start to really get to know each other (and have lots of amazing lifemate sex, of course). The supporting characters we meet are well done & interesting (and PLEASE tell me Thorne is going to get a book, because I need more Thorne in my life! NEED!). We also get to hang out w/ some of our favorite Immortals for a bit. And there's some super fun Lucian time, as well. *grin*
So, overall this one's a win for me. The last few chapters especially felt like old school Argeneau land, and that's a place I always love to visit. : )
I am a real fan whose still waiting for Sam's third sister to find her immortal, but I must call out that CL Quinn did a whole series called the first and this was so similar, I was skipping pages. Of course there can be many God complex characters, but, the whole kidnapping, cross-breeding story is outlined in books 1 through 7 or 8 of the FIrst Series. I love the over sexed, out of time, funny Argeneau immortals and their feisty mates. Please bring them back. Thank you.
Sarita and Domitian are life mates, and he has waited not too patiently for her to grow up before he claims her, he first spotted her when she was 13 and dining in his restaurant and the wait has been a long one he feels. He's kept tabs on her by hiring a private detective, and Sarita doesn't have a clue, even though she's been under surveillance for 15 years! She's now a police detective in Canada, and hasn't returned to her native Venezuela since she and her father left abruptly 15 years before. She has no inkling that vampires exist, but when her grandmother's employer asks her to return to Venezuela because her grandmother has had an accident, she boards a plane and goes!!
Domitian has also accepted a job with the same employer. Dr. Dressler has become the main suspect in the disappearance of several of the Rogue Hunters, and Domitian hopes to infiltrate his compound to see if he can locate any of the missing.
Needless to say, the good doctor has nasty surprises in store for all concerned, and Sarita and Domitian are a major part of his rotten plans.
Sometimes I can't understand how I can keep falling under Linsay's spell. It's the 25th book for heaven's sake, and the characters should seem so similar. However, she reels me in every time, and I find myself worried, cheering and jealous of the heroines, so feisty, every one, and drooling over their life mates. I guess we all need love and adventure in our lives, and Linsay delivers that in spades.
If you love vampires and women who will give them a run for their money, indulge yourself in Linsay's world!
This is one of my all time favorite series, I buy the books in hard copy because of them being my favorite. But man, I may have to rethink spending almost $7.00 for a paperback, going forward. The story wasn't well delvoped, and in some chapters, we were just given a synopsis of what occurred over a few days. Especially as the story was wrapping up, weeks had gone by.
I enjoy a little more romance and some sex with the Hero and Herroine, as it really helps firm up the life mate connection, this was just o forced and not very compelling.
I don't know, I may have to reconsider this series. Which makes me sad.

We're in Venezuela carrying on the search for the kidnapped enforcers and Chef Domitian Argenis, has heard that his life mate Sarita Reyes has also been taken on the pretence of visiting her Abùela Maria Reyes & Domitian's decided to take up the offer to becoming the Doctor Dressler's Chef, unknowingly to him that it's a set up.
This is where we see things become intense & transforming out of a science fiction/horror display right in front of Sarita, when she catches To Doctor and his assistant, join a body of a man who was separated into 2 & things take a turn for the worse for her or is it for the better, when she wakes up, with a stranger with her in this strange & not the same house she was at.
So here after Domitian wakes up & sees this stunning woman whom he's unable to read, (which here made me chuckle as even though he had up dates about Sarita, he never had a photo so didn't know what she looked like) & thinking he had 2 life mate's 😅 Here they have that strong intensive connection, where even though she told him, after he told her quickly what they are to each other, that he won't be touching her leave alone be going anything more.
In this episode of The Argeneau Series there is SUCH HEAT NOT just between these 2 & their sexual chemistry, but also we see how & if they're able to keep themselves safe &/or get to & rescue the rest of the kidnapped Argeneau Team as well as for Sarita's Abùela & Dressler's long suffering wife Elizabeth Dressler & their hybrid bald eagle son Thorne
I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
Having read a few more of Ms Sands books I find that now am trying to collect the whole series. Once you pick up the next book, you don't want to put it down until you have finished.
As stated earlier in this review its definitely recommended, apart from anything else there is a lot of research put in and I am finding that each book received so far, follows on from the one before.
The key characters link in with the previous characters and also start to include more, so you know what to look forward to.
10/10 for this book, thank you for the adventure lynsay sands
