The love story was ultimately beyond anticlimactic. Considering the MCs spent tiring amounts of time thinking about their relationship, they did surprisingly little talking to each other. There was no declarations of love, although the author pretends there were. In the end, the mate conversation had no strife or discussion, despite all the thought and worries from the MCs for the entire book.
The book was boring (even the sex scenes were snoozeworthy) and the ending was executed in such a way to be disappointing.
I chose this from a selection to read, given it was from an older woman's perspective with a younger Werewolf - Eli.
Genie has had her X leave her or a younger woman, now divorced and kids have all left home. Eli is a were and along with his brother has had a hard life, but made good on their individual lives, surviving a cold nasty 'mother'; or so they thought! :) You'll need to read the story for that revelation. :)
Eli has always known Genie was his, despite the age difference. When Genie's youngest pregnant daughter returns to the roost, having left a nasty partner (thankfully not mated!) Genie has to pick up her life and carry on.
Eli helps around the farm and house, with his younger brother Monty, then through circumstances both end up moving into Genie's basement after they make in livable with some renovations. Eli now has the chance to build a relationship
with his mate, getting Genie comfortable with the age and his desire for her.
It's a beautiful story of a woman coming to terms with a new love and to know it's very real. That Eli is honest, loving and determined where she is concerned. There are other elements to this tale, with others around them helping and sometimes putting a spanner in the works. But it's a wonderful tale of new love, a forever love that allows Genie to be the woman she always was meant to be and more importantly - Eli's mate. :)
I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope more stories come forth with the older woman, younger male in this genre. :) A great story, so grab yourself a copy and enjoy.
