Description needs a major overhaul.
Here's the lights I used it with: http://www.amazon.com/Feit-Electric-14-6m-Outdoor-Lightstring/dp/B00NE65B6A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1434057273&sr=8-1&keywords=feit+string+lights
Pro tip: After some research I found the very best way to hang the Feit string lights was to use steel cable and turnbuckles to hang the lights from, and HOG RINGS are the IDEAL piece of hardware to hang the lights:
Don't forget the hog ring pliers:
I am dimming a light that pushes over 2500 watts and have had zero issues nor any buzzing sound

Edit: After 9 months it is dying. I use it almost almost everyday for my track lighting (5x 100w halogens) in my studio apt. It started making a audible buzzing sound, no smoke, nothing burning or getting hot, just stopped working at full power. Guessing the trim pot is failing. I expected to get 2 - 3 years use out of this
Do not buy this. It worked for a while and then went dead - with a low voltage string of decorative lights!
Update: The seller i purchased this from, MZ Photo, is abdicating any responsibility. They say contact the manufacturer but there is no information on how to do that. Basically if it breaks you're out the $50 bucks or so you spent. Their note is below.
If you are having technical issues with the item you ordered, please contact the manufacturer directly for possible service under warranty.
