This book gives even the casual reader amazing insight to the development and deployment of these leading edge weapons. Mr Kutta is an outstanding historian and makes the subject come alive. Well worth reading for anyone of any level of interest in the subject. About the Author

Benjamin King is currently the Command Historian of the U.S. Army Transportation Center in Fort Eustis, Virginia. A Vietnam veteran who received a bronze star for heroism in battle, he resides with his wife in Tidewater, Virginia. Timothy J. Kutta, a former Marine officer, is currently a freelance writer specializing in military affairs. The author of three books and scores of articles in national publications, he resides in Jacksonville, Florida.

An excellent history of the V weapon program.

A well written history of the Nazi efforts to field what they believed would replace long range artillery. The descriptions of political infighting was particularly revealing. The author strips bare the myth of German efficiency and notes the constant interference by top officials in the nazi party to further their own power base. Dr. King also details the allied efforts to defeat the V-1 and their ability to react swiftly to changing situations even though in the earliest days opinions varied greatly about whether the weapons even existed.
An excellent must read for anyone interested in the V weapons of the nazis.
