Best part of book 3 is catching glimpses of how Nick, Cat and baby Jace are doing.
**** I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book ****
Take Me As I Am is the third in Shaniel Watson’s Imperfections series and I enjoyed it. The title says perfectly what this story is truly about-a woman who is confident in herself and knows what she wants and is not willing to change in order to get it. The question is whether or not the man she wants is willing to step up to the plate and accept her for herself.
Ava has wanted Chris, her best friend’s brother, for years. She makes absolutely no bones about it and is so confident in how great they could be together. She’s blunt, witty and I just really liked her. Ava is the friend everyone needs-she says it like it is whether you want to hear it or not.
Chris on the other hand is trying so hard to maintain a relationship with someone else. It’s not that he doesn’t want Ava, but he also wants the security and safeness of his relationship with Sage. Afraid of hurting anyone, he tries to limit his contact with Ava, tries to stay happy with Sage, but his feelings for Ava are just too strong to be ignored.
The chemistry between these two was hot and heavy. I loved seeing them come together and bring out things in each other that nobody else had brought out in them before. The sex here was definitely steamy and so not what I expected from these characters-but I loved it.
My issue was that I feel like the story dragged a bit in spots. I think it could have been tied up quicker, maybe more of a novella than a full length novel. That being said, it was well written and I did enjoy it. I’d recommend reading the other books in this series before tackling this one, but I would recommend this book as well.
After reading the first two books in the Imperfections series, I knew that Ava's story would be epic, and I wasn't disappointed in the least! The character development is great, with a full colorful cast of secondaries to add to the awesomeness. I have LOVED LOVED LOVED Ava since her stint as a secondary, but Chris enraged me more than once. There were so many times when I just wanted Ava to kick him in his junk, when he treated her so badly. However, much to my dismay, Shaniel Watson's super talented writing style, changed my mind about him. She led me in directions that I wasn't willing to go myself, and that my friends, is the mark of a fantastic author! Her added in twists made for great OMG moments that led to an f-bomb parade, more than once, and being fully emersed, I was yelling loudly. I can't deny that Chris and Ava's flammable chemistry was off the charts HOT, and would finally EXPLODE into fiery flames of sexy scene goodness that will melt panties everywhere, into a pile of ashes. But by the end, I was sad that it was over, because I NEED so much more of the EPIC Ava, so I'm not to proud to beg, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GIVE ME MORE! With that, I'll HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND Take Me As I Am to EVERYONE!
