What’s your background in CCNA, and how has this helped you write the book?

Years ago, I started my CCNA journey as a student of the Cisco Networking Academy. During my enrollment period, I had covered over 150 practical hands-on labs in various topics which prepared me for the industry. After passing my CCNA exam, I gained a significant amount of experience working in both small as well as large Internet Service Providers (ISP) as a Network Support Engineer.

As a Networking Instructor with over 5+ years' experience, I have trained over 1000 students. I wanted to share my knowledge and create Cisco CCNA content in a much easier way for anyone to understand and help aspiring people gain a highly reputable, industry-recognized networking certification.

This is definitely a must have resource to have in your toolbox. I just recently graduated from a Network Engineer Program and this book has been an awesome resource for me. I have not been able to completed go through all the material; however, after getting half way through as been an excellent reiteration of what I need to get through the CCNA topics. I am more confident in my preparation for the exam after going through the details within this book. The content is clearly explained for a kindergartner to grasp. I appreciate the opportunity to utilize the content as I continue my preparation to test. The material is very well organized and in line with the required content needed to pass the exam. I recommend grabbing this resource if you are preparing to take your exam. Thank you for a first look!

Must have!!! Simple, straightforward definitions and complete, practical step by step labs

Glean is an awesome teacher and professional. I have been to Glen's classes and have his previous book on Kali Linux; so getting this book was a no-brainer. The concepts in this book are outlined thoughtfully and the explanations are in a simple and layman manner. Certain concepts that I have struggled to understand using the Wendell Odom book was easily grasped using this book. The book follows the CCNA syllabus in the desired order compared to the Wendell Odom books that do part of a topic then come back to it at a later chapter which is confusing. The added deviance of this book compared to traditional CCNA books is the labs that are drafted to give the reader the step by step process and commands with screenshots to not only achieve the knowledge needed for the exam but to implement the skills attained in the real-world.

For anyone preparing for the CCNA 200-301 certification, the guide will provide the guidance you need to successfully gain the necessary skills required for the exam. The guide steps through subjects that include networking fundamentals, network access, IP connectivity, and services, along with security and automation. With plenty of graphics to illustrate specific topics, along with several end of chapter questions, you’ll have a deeper understanding of what’s involved in managing and securing an enterprise network. Glen also has hands-on labs to get a true feeling of what’s required during network administration. In addition, you’ll find links to resources to enhance your learning for each chapter. As an added bonus, the book has two mock exams to really test your skills!

This prep book for taking the CCNA-301 exam is very thorough and covers all the topics that are listed on the Cisco site for exam prep. The book is easy to understand - it starts with an overview of the fundamentals, and continues on with each section. The chapters cover A LOT of material, so you may need to go back and re-read them. Still, I feel like this is a great test prep book for the CCNA and am excited to take the exam soon.

I went through the contents of the book and found that it covered all the topics necessary for the CCNA exam.
Though I didn't go through the whole book, I did go through some specific topics and found out that it's not only useful for CCNA preparation but also helps you have the necessary knowledge and understanding of the topics from an interview point of view.
I would surely recommend this book not only for someone preparing for CCNA but also for beginners who have just started or looking to learn about Networking.

There are errors and half-truths in the book. So if something doesn't quite match up with what your read in another book or learned in a class, double check it.

Also, the author's English is a little bit odd. This will prepare you with talking to outsourced Cisco support later in your career!
