Important! Is plastic lid BPA free!? Not much point in having a nice glass container if the plastic lid is contaminated.

Yes, according to the manufacturer's web site (, they are BPA free. However, as the other reviewer stated, it doesn't matter as long as the plastic doesn't come into contact with your food.

Even if the lid was BPA, it wouldn't matter since it's not in contact with the food. BPA leeches out by contact, and also leeches out more when heated.
