Useful advice for average players
October 10, 2008
The author discusses basic problems of piano playing in a no-nonsense style. He doesn't promise to make you a concert pianist with 5 minutes of practice time a day, doesn't develop lofty, far-fetched theories on true artistry at the instrument and doesn't mystify the art of piano playing.
Since most books on the subject unfortunately suffer from at least one of these ailments, this tribute to common sense is an especially welcome contribution to the literature on the piano.
