About the Author
After years of research and patient care (this is my 11th book also including a textbook) I tried to cover EVERYTHING in treating and caring for men with low testosterone and low sperm count (and ZERO libido). These are complex issues that most doctor don't even know how to diagnose, then if they do, they just treat with injectable testosterone cypionate once a month (usually a LAST resort option in my armamentarium but also in my opinion should be done weekly NOT monthly -- UGH). Every physician should start with a GOOD history -- so I tried to discuss the most common causes of low testosterone (it's usually central hypogonadism or vitamin deficiencies) and why these occur, and how to look for these problems. I detail all the symptoms and problems that occur and why they are often MISDIAGNOSED in place of hypogonadism. I then go into the details of how to get a proper lab diagnoses and discuss ways to properly diagnose vitamin deficiencies or pituitary dysfunction or even primary hypogonadism (testicular damage which is actually NOT very common). Then I detail all the treatment options available and what works and what doe NOT work. Women, if you're reading this, DON'T let your man be sterilized or have his libido nuked from lack of proper diagnosis and lack of proper therapy for his problem -- IF he's sitting around and too tired to "play" with you or to even wrestle with your kids and his primary care doc says it's depression -- cry BS and get this book -- read up on what's REALLY happening. Men -- save your marriage, sex life, and your brain -- you know your libido is in the toilet -- this highly referenced book (tons of peer reviewed studies and articles) will guide you and hopefully save you. I am a VERY popular speaker BECAUSE I make the complex easily understandable, even among physicians. So occasionally in my books I use conversational writing -- say "kinda" and stuff like that (like "this diagnosis is kinda weird, don't you think?"). It's just for FUN. I can most definitely write in the strict (and boring) science vernacular but who'd want to read it? And thanks for the read.

Having a close-relative with a head injury---I got chills reading what may be that person's own life story. This book needs to be in the hands of men with head injuries and men who suffer from migraines. It's not for the faint-hearted. Be ready to be educated and motivated to act and do something about your health. Your family and loved ones depend on you to be the best "you" that you can be!!
Dr. Purser has the knowledge, the know how, the credentials and expertise to bring this book home and tells us how to "git 'R done"----the why, what and how. There are several super re-caps to make it stick. We learned about "Kenaka Q10, the highest quality CoQ10 in the world"!! . Chapter 10 is eye opening--full of vital information about common misdiagnoses. Serious stuff and a must read.
This book was previously rated at one star as it had severe formatting issues rendering the book unreadable. I have now put it back to the five star review that reflects the quality of the information provided in this book.
Thank you so much Dr. Purser for resolving this issue.
Below is the unmodified version of my first review.
As an Amazon Prime customer I was able to borrow this e-book and was hoping that it would be something that I would purchase in that form.
The good part of this book is the enormous amount of detail that Dr. Dan Purser provides about how multiple complex processes can come to a screeching halt by any number of seemingly innocuous reasons. I have also learned, or rather verified, that my personal doctor (or any of the other doctors I have seen for that matter) do not know anything about endocrinology or even when to pass symptoms on to a specialist. For this wealth of information I give this book five stars.
The bad part of the e-book is that throughout it there are innumerable bookmarking errors, typically in, bold that interrupt sentences. One error that pops up infrequently is where a letter is not a letter but is instead an empty box. I have seen a few spelling mistakes that can, sometimes humorously, be ignored. The error that I have run across the most, however, is:
Error! Bookmark not defined.
On the screen it can look something like this:
"As I said in Chapter 1, this is defined as someone (a male) with a Total TestosteroneError! Bookmark not defined. level of less than 800 ng/dl who also has SYMPTOMS of low testosterone."
Sadly this makes the e-book unreadable for me as I have to spend more time working past the bold and not bold error messages. At the nine percent mark into the book there were seven errors on one page. That is when I was forced to give up.
The unreadability of this e-book, due to the multiple errors I have found in it and have described above, I must provide one star which is sad as I would rather have the e-book than the physical copy.
Men, if you don't feel great, then get this book, read it, and find a doctor who will work with you.
