They are well made too. There is a peice of covered elastic at the waiste that keeps it snug and the side of the velcro on the front of the diaper where you attach the sides is very large so you can adjust it to fit well. The best part of that is that the scratch velcro flap has plenty of space to lay down and "catch" on rather than staying loose and scratching her legs like the Diaperaps covers do.
The tag hangs on the front of the diaper, which I don't like when I only put a shirt on her. But I do like that it is the sort of tag that you can read after many washings - so that you don't have to remember what size you bought last time and can read it when ordering new ones. These also last longer on my baby. I go through new sizes of Diaperaps diapers very quickly, but am still using the same Imse diaper covers (after three sizes of the other).
Best of all these are machine washable as the ad says, but I throw mine in the drier and haven't had any trouble with doing that. You might not want to take my word for it though in case mine were unique, but I was able to. Also, if you don't throw them in the dryer, they dry rather quickly hanging up.
These are made in Japan and the weights given for the size are in kilograms on the label.Read more ›
Favorite features: The wool is soft. I machine wash them with the rest of my diapers, first on a cold cycle, then warm, and then dry in the dryer on a regular hot setting. I haven't lanolized them yet, but will have to soon. The velcro area is very large, making the diaper very adjustable. The leg gussets do a beautiful job of holding everything in. My daughter never had any leaks in these (or gdiapers for that matter), while her always large, watery poops cause blow-outs in disposable diapers almost every single time. I like to put these over disposables when we're going for a long car trip and I may not get to her diaper immediately after she poops. While poo stains the trim and gusset parts easily, getting them to look brand new again is as easy as leaving them out in full sun for a few hours.
Not so favorite: small leg openings. My daughter is 13lbs and 24 inches long, so definitely not chubby, but the leg openings are already snug. Meanwhile, the rest of the diaper is amply sized and can accommodate two prefolds for heavy-wetters. It's a much bulkier fit than the small gdiapers I also use, so these are my night time covers while I search for a wool cover with a trimmer fit.
Not a trim fit but since I use it for nighttime, who cares. They are nice and soft to the touch, don't retain odors and you only need to wash it like once a month.
Did i mention I love them? lol

I bought this because I wanted to try wool but was not crazy about hand washing. This was felted and machine washable, but it cuts into my baby's leg. Not worth it.Published on July 23, 2010 by EVsMOM
The velcro on the Imse Vimse Wool Cover is too rough. It can scratch the baby's gentle skin pretty badly. Read morePublished on July 19, 2010 by ann
