No real review meat; I just didn't have this song in my collection from my CD days, added it now. Decent quality, though I sometimes wish Amazon would start offering non-lossy compresssed files for sale, to let us recompress as desired.

I have been a follower of Phil Collins from the beginning when he was with the group Genesis. Once he went solo I became an even bigger fan I loved this song from Miami Vice and loved Phil when he did an guest spot on that show.

Strangely, every athlete I know loves this song, myself included. I don't know why, but it's great for getting me in the proper headspace for a game. Maybe it's the slow build, I don't know. But I really like this song.

One of the great classic songs ever. Who hasn't done the epic drum solo while alone in the car?
This song was written during his divorce and shows the anger he had during that period.
It is an urban myth that it was written about a drowning he witnessed.

Phil & Miami Vice were BOSS back in the day! As far as it goes Phil has alway brought meaning to what he writes and it still applies as much now as it did then, it's my understanding of the songs meaning that has matured into a better understanding.

Best song ever! And, my daughter took me to his concert a few years back and it was by far, the best concert I've seen in years. In The Air Tonight was magnificently performed.

There is no question that Phil Collins has honestly been one of the most universal singer/songwriters that have ever made it solo. His own work had eclipsed his work with Genesis, and delivered success to the group that they had not had for the Peter Gabriel era. But of Phil's solo works, the one that really came as a surprise to everyone was In The Air Tonight. The song still sounds driven today, as it did when it came out over 30 years ago, and just a drive to what has always made Phil Collins special. Especially, in this era where artists and songs haven't shown that that have came from the heart, and the drive of the beat of the drums. Too bad Phil retired last year, so he will not be making new music anytime down the road. But his classics will always stand out.
