I spent a LOT of time researching projectors and learning what makes them good and what makes them bad. I chose this projector out of many options because it was the perfect middle ground between really high and really low quality. There were others similar to this one, similar in price and picture quality, but were lacking in the nice firmware features that InFocus implemented. If you don't have the mind or time to figure out what is the BEST upper-middle class projector, then take my word for it, this is the one you want.

HOWEVER - I finally got around to setting this up and am FLABBERGASTED that this product did not have an HDMI port!!! This is HDMI age people, what are you thinking InFocus??? HDMI is CHEAP and easy to integrate! HDMI IS the medium for high resolution - come on!!!

I'm SOOOO disappointed that this did not come with built-in HDMI. Really wish I had noticed that during all my research, its the one thing that seemed so OBVIOUS that the project would have, that I didn't even think to verify. This has caused me to waste a few hundred dollars now, because I got all the adapters and system needed to effectively transmit an HDMI high-resolution signal to the projector only to find out the projector won't accept it. Now what am I supposed to do? Buy another $50 item that needs plugged in to transfer hdmi back to analog outputs? Thats so dumb!

SUMMARY
SO BUYER BEWARE - If you need HDMI do NOT get this projector! Otherwise, its the best of the lot for upper-middle class projector - great picture, great features - but this lack of HDMI is a REAL KILLER for me.

PS: Do NOT bother getting InFocus' proposed hardware for transmitting audio/video wirelessly.

When I want a presentation to look fantastic, I take this projector. It's larger, heavier and pricier than some, but it's brilliantly bright and sharp with perfect color reproduction. When switched off, the fan turns on really high for a few seconds, and presumably cools the bulb down sufficiently to pack it right away. It's been a few years since I bought it, and my model doesn't have HDMI input. Aside from that, it was a great buy.

This is one slick projector! The picture is very sharp and accurate , great throw distance, nice and bright, super easy to use menus and buttons. The 3d works without a glitch, I have tested it with 60 fps with Need for Speed RIvals , no artifacts blur or anything, superb detail and 0 lag. It really feels like your are in the game with a 120 inch 3D game going ! The glowing ring reminds me of bmw halos and is pretty neat, I do not like the fact that I had to purchase an hdmi adapter. However an ultra cheap adapter worked perfect with full 3d so it is not a big deal, and this projector is priced decent for being 720P and 1080P capable. I would highly recommend this to any buyer, I have used mine for more than 3000 hours and it has yet to dissapoint me. This is the third infocus I have owned and have not a single problem yet, good job Infocus!

Honestly, this is a very high quality unit. I was unsure at first, but after a few months of use I can say that this is worth the money for sure. The picture is very bright and super sharp. I have used this for DJ performance and my crowds have grown bigger and bigger since incorporating two of these units in my shows. The picture looks good even over 200 inches and I have used thses for periods over 8 hours straight without any overheating or problems so far. Great lamp life and very sexy looks as well with glowing blue "halo" bmw style. Fives stars, not having built in hdmi did not bother me, I have a few adapters already. They only cost $5- $30 if you need one just google it.
