Somethings different here...
Inland is my go to for regular PLA, not PLA+ or PRO or HTLPA. Regular old PLA.
This stuff is different. Has a different roll with a center that's smaller in diameter, and narrower (Not as nice on my Maker select), the filament has a texture on the outside, not smooth. Came in a new resealable bag (That's a nice touch). It has changed. And not in a good way. Not only does the roll wobble on the spool holder, it is also jamming (Has NEVER happened before. Microswiss hot end), Doesn't stick too well to my PEI glass bed (Which is a dream), but most importantly...
It is super inconsistent. the diameter is fluctuating between 1.7 and 1.8mm, sometimes in a distance as short as half a meter. This causes the prints to be wildly inconsistent on the lay. I loved the old stuff. Great filament for the cost, plus the free shipping. But this new stuff is like nothing I've ever run into before. It's not PLA+, and if it is it sure doesn't print like the other brands I've used (Esun, Protopasta, The old Protoparadigm HTPLA (Rest in peace)), and this new formula just... Isn't good. The most important function of the filament is nonexistent.
This is the first filament that has ever given me this much a loop to try and use, and I print in PETG all the time. I can't recommend this stuff anymore, because I don't know if it's old stuff or new stuff. Go back to the old Inland filament you guys! We love it!
It does have a bit of an ABS odor to it when it prints, and other people review it say it's not PLA. One look at this small label and mystery solved "PLA+". This is allegedly the same material as eSun's PLA Pro. It's a slightly different blend of materials than regular PLA. It generally has improved characteristics. In so far as I can tell, it's melting point is a little higher, and it's "globbier", which assuredly gives it better layer adhesion but means its a little more sensitive to under extrusion and retraction.
Now that I have the settings dialed in, it is a great filament at a very low price - however, I'm obligated to knock off a star since I didn't get the material I expected. The main label just says PLA - but it isn't like my particular roll is just mislabeled, as it indicates print temperature of 205-225c - the same print temps as eSun's PLA Pro. For regular black PLA, eSun indicates standard print temps of 190-220c.
Allegedly, Inland (Microcenter store brand) filament is OEM'ed by eSun - so the temperatures lining up here seems to corroborate that.
It wasn't until I noticed this little + sign on this little label that I realized what was going on. It's just better filament than they said it is. Tweak your settings accordingly and prepare to be pretty impressed with the quality for the price. I'll be buying more and hoping I get the PLA Pro.

UPDATE: I've printed about 50 hours with this stuff now, a little under 400 grams, and I have to say, this stuff is terrible. the more I use it the less I think it's even pla, as it behaves nothing like any of my 4 other spools I have atm. Only about 60% of the prints come out acceptable, but they are INCREDIBLY weak. You end up spending about the same amount of money per successful print as with the more expensive pla's, but they turn out nicer. don't buy
Except... oh no. They sent me the "new and improved" formula.
I don't mind printing this stuff. I've tried it in other colors; it prints hotter, but pretty much the same quality. (Note: "the same", not "better").
No, the thing that bothers me is: it's a very different color than the original formula, which is what's pictured on this page. The new stuff is goldenrod.
If I were reviewing the original product, I'd give it five stars. If I were reviewing the new product, with an accurate product page, I'd give it three or four stars. But this bait and switch is unacceptable.
